OT - Calling the NCAA out
Many of us have the same feeling towards the NCAA and their (lack of) leadership. This article from foxsports really calls them to the carpet.
needs to have an independent firm perform investigations into alleged academic and athletic violations at schools. They are now part of the problem.
The NCAA should also have regional offices around the country (much like the regional university accrediting body system) for all matters that come under their jurisdiction.

It's been well documented but Mark Emmert gave just a horrendous "press conference" yesterday, where he basically fillibustered to avoid questions and eventually sarcastically talked shit to Dennis Dodd who advocated him getting fired. You gotta be a real shmuck for me to side with Dennis Dodd against you, and Mark Emmert is that shmuck.
Fillibustered. I had similar thoughts, but it reminded me of Martin Short's SNL character, Nathan Thrum, the nervous lawyer.

And basically agreed with the author. It ~should~ be a big deal, but it's not.
It's interesting that the NCAA did not turn up any wrong-doing when they were on campus investigating the Cam Newton situation... Definitely a head-scratcher...
