OT- Auburn's national title in jeopardy?
What is Yes.
Nothing
Nothing will come of it. And even if the title is "vacated" Auburn will still claim it. Just like Reggie Bush "didn't" win the heisman and Cam Neuton's "dad" took the money. NCAA is still a joke.
Not sure this so much bodes well for Ross as it bodes poorly for Gibbs. But, I'll still take it.
How would the NCAA vacate a championship that it doesn't even award? Worst case is that they might have to vacate every game but there is no sanctioned national championship to vacate. Don't think that the networks or polling organizations will ask for their glass football back either. Especially since the Oregon team that lost to them may be vacating some games soon as well.
Ask USC.
Doesn't matter if they take away the title now everyone knows the game was still played and Auburn won it.
Same thing with Ohio State. The records may be vacated, but I unfortunately know who won those games against us.
the Fab 5 won all of those games too, right? Somehow it doesn't feel that way to me.
At the very least there is an '*'.
Well if they are truly erased from history why do I have to see that damn time out so often...
Because they only vacated the wins!
HAHAHAHA.... Too funny. As a diehard who can't stand the timeout that wasn't I just want to thank you for this
Are u aware that ed martin wasnt a michigan booster ? The fab five didnt come to michigan from martins loans. He wasnt paying them to come and play at michigan
Needs to be a NCAA logo meme or Mark Emmert picture meme that screams hypocrisy and greed.
That is why I honest to god was rooting for Oregon during that game. The whole Cam Newton's dad pay to play scenario. I knew that one day if they won it that their championship was going to be voided. Everything was just too shady.
Oregon hasn't proven to be on the up-and-up.
What is roopstigo?
It is a rare skin condition caused by prolonged intimate contact with a male chicken.
Nothing will happen, and even if the title is vacated, you can't really take that win away. We all saw the game. We know Auburn won. It's just like the UM-OSU game in 2010. The win was technically taken away, but every Michigan fan you meet will say that game was still played and we got our asses kicked.
I've been more curious about whether or not Malzahn had a hand in any of this, and if he did, what does that do for his future as the head man at Auburn.
But does anyone else think that it's funny that this comes out after they suffer a losing season? Alos, that USC's hammer came after they endured a sub standard season for them? The NCAA is like the mafia, they'll leave you alone until you can't pay them their cut.
That is what I have said all along, the NCAA isnt going to kill a cash cow. Auburn hadnt won a NC in forever (maybe it was their first?) so they knew they had an entire state of fans just clamoring to buy merch/tickets. (Yes, I know Alabama fans buy a metric shit ton of gear but Auburn has the whole lil bro' thing going on so just think if MSU were to win a NC, every Sparty fan would get a new t-shirt).
Its a nice little conspiracy complete with racism and corrupt southern judges. Unfortunately, McNeil's story isn't going to be credible to the AU apologists because he's now been branded a felon - and they will trumpet that around like its all that matters. I believe it though and wonder if he can get a fair trial there.
Nothing is giong to happen, because nobody will testify in an official setting, and there is no paper trail. It's easy to get away with a little bit of cheating now, as long as you put some effort into it.
No, sorry.
by these allegations.
Third undefeated season since 1993...... and zero national championships.
I really don't think so. What we have now will be chalked up to a bunch of heresay and he said she said. Just like the OSU SI article, most of it will be deemed un-usable or simply not fact and in the end, jus like the initial Cam Newton investigation, nothing will come of it. Do you possibly think that the NCAA, who already look like a joke due to the Miami deal) and much more to the non-morornic fan) will dig themselves deeper and admit that all this was missed and start to bring down an SEC team and their title? Nope. I truly hope I am wrong here, but I will not get my hopes up, and neither should you.
It gets even worse, if that is possible...
ESPN is now reporting Auburn hid drug test falures by 10 players because the substance, synthetic marijuana, was not on the official school ban list.
Seriously, when are we going to start handing out death penalties?
Some of these programs are like children, ya they know they will get in trouble. But when the consequence is nothing compared to the reward, they will just continue doing it. In the mean time programs that do it right will continue to struggle or do what Ole Miss might have done, say screw it, time to get ours.
Rain continues to be wet.
