The Karma that Killed Kansas
When a guy named Johnson punches our guy in the johnson, and virtually gets away with it, it becomes the Karma that Killed Kansas.
In the last 2:22 of regulation, Johnson committed 2 turnovers which led to 4 Michigan points, plus missed the front end of a 1 and 1 which led to Burke's tying 3-pointer.
In the OT, Johnson was 1 of 3 with an additional turnover. At the end he drives for the tying basket, then (probably thinking about his missed free throw) passes up a sure chance at a lay-up or a two shot foul.
Its Karma baby, Karma! Think not? Just check out this Kansas Sports piece: http://www2.kusports.com/news/2013/mar/30/opinion-kus-stunning-loss-comes-down-karma/
This is the 1st time I've ever appreciated 3 K's in a row!!!!
We were also fortunate the refs didn't call a foul on the KU guy who ran over Mitch before that epic 3 by Trey
Eric, was thinking that as I was typing but wasn't sure.
Just seems like Johnson gave his team a real low blow....the whole game
near the beach area, Pacific Beach, lived there for 20 years and moved a year ago to an area called Rose Canyon (5 minutes away from PB) and can see La Jolla and other beautiful sights from my backyard, right on the canyon....just effing gorgeous, SD is so nice...Newport is sweet too
How bout them Wolverines, eh?
Hey Eric, why or how do you have minus 500 points? lol
Karpov, Kasparov, Kramnik, honorable mention to Korchnoi the Khallenger!

THEY HAD SUBS....THEY WERE THIS DAMN LONG...IT WAS CRAZY
KARMA (to fit the thread theme) $5 FOOT LONG SUBS...BUT LONGER
OP, I think your post includes far too many Johnsons.
think of this as Karma going back to the 2008 championship game. KU was thouroughly dominated the whole night, Memphis missed some key FT, Kansas drained an improbable three to force OT, then won in OT.
This doesn't quite even it out, but at least it comes close!
Still wondering what it takes to earn a flagrant 2. Kermit Washington?

Flagrant 2 is basically fighting or seriously injuring someone with intention to do so. While EJ had intention to hurt McGary, McGary wasn't injured and didn't see any time away from the court due to the incident. I'd say it's on the line, but they made the right call last night. F2 should be used very sparingly.

Results-based officiating is the worst. McGary probably could have limped off and spent some time on the bench, but he's a tough guy and stuck it out. If you judge these things on their results, that just gives incentive to milk the drama.
I don't think any punches can be pulled where low blows like this one are concerned. Basketball players don't wear cups; you have to protect them.

It's funny to read the comments below the story, where several KU fans try to convince themselves the Johnson hit wasn't intentional.

McGary: “I didn’t know Elijah played like that. I don’t know him or anything. I was just setting a screen for Trey (Burke) and he came up and whacked me right in the crotch. He used his fist. He dropped me,” McGary said of what was deemed a flagrant one foul.
“I was in the fetal position. I was waiting for him to blow the whistle and they did. I was like, ‘Check the monitor.’ And they were like, ‘He was just cutting for a screen.’ And I was like, ‘No, check the monitor.’ It was intentional
Always good to see the Green Lantern getting in on the action.
