Mitch Mcgary love thread.

Submitted by no joke its hoke on

what can you say? As GREAT as Burke was/is, Mcgary is the story of the tourney so far. 54 points,38!!!!!!!! rebounds in 3 games. Unreal.

McGary:  12/17 shooting, 25 pts, 14 rebs, 3 stl in 35 mins

Withey:  6/11 shotting, 12 pts, 8 rebs, 5 blk in 39 mins

Who would have thought going into this game that McGary would win this matchup?   Dude's become a big man in the past 3 games.

McGary is actually further along in his skill set and ability than Withey was at this stage is his career. So its not that surprising especially since the way he has been used the in the three games has been great. Putting him in the pick and roll with burke has really maximized his opportunities.

noticeable improvement in his game the last month or so. Very impressed with the coaching staff and MM putting in the time and effort to develop his game.

To me McGary has been all the difference in the tourney. Burke is Burke but Mitch McGary has come up huge at the most critical moments in every way possible...as a Freshman.

McGary had his doubters, and they were well deserved.  Tonight though he single handedly kept us in the game until late.  He gave up 4-5" and still dominated the boards.  Really showed why he has taken over as the starter.

...when I have my crazy subs party at my house!  I'm drunk on my blue drink that I drank out of my U of M glass while watching the game alone in the dark in my family room!!!!  And I'm 45 years old!

And he is gone after net year. He keeps playing like this folks are going to start talking about him leaving this year. Remember he was thinking about going pro before coming umich (he was in prep school,no?).

In any event, dude keeps this up, he might be on some per season all American lists. Seriously, he has been dominant.
