Michigan Basketball vs. Kansas NCAA Tournament Game 3 Open Thread

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
I'm sure there will be a Liveblog (because why jinx it?) but here's the Open Thread for this one too (because why jinx it?). From a fine season to a really good one, maybe more. Two down, four to go. Why not us? Time to shock the world. Go Blue!

Geez....considering how bad we've been dominated in the paint and how much we've turned it over, and got 0 points from Burke, its amazing that we're down 6.

Kinda feel the same way I did at halftime @ Indiana.

It's going to be one of those nights when every lose ball doesn't bounce our way, backboards hate us, and passes just meet stone hands. Unless they start missing their bunnies, we've lost.

Ill take a 6 point deficit when they're shooting 70% and 40% for us. Unless Kansas can miraculously keep that magic up, the second half should be much better.

I like our chances, Kansas has shot the ball great but they're only up by 6. We need to start pressing these guys, time to get them out of their comfort zone.

1. If Withey is on the floor, McGary is on the floor. Period. No excuses, no exceptions. He rests when Withey rests.

2. Horford is a PF in this game. Again, Jon Horford can ONLY be on the floor if McGary or Morgan are on the floor with him.

3. Try a 2-3 zone for a possession or two.

4. Drive and kick. Drive and kick. Drive and kick. Trey needs to have 10+ assists.

5. Play harder.

I have a couple posters who have a hard on for me and will neg every post I make.

Not sure if they realize that it means nothing and most posters turn their "threshold" to -1 so they can see all posts.

Nonetheless, if it keeps them busy and not posting, I'm okay with it.

from behind the arc, just missed 'em both.  Otherwise he is doing just what he should be doing...getting inside, drawing the trees, dishing to the open guy.  Just need to knock more of the shots down.

Cool the turnovers, and Kansas comes back to Earth a bit, and we're in good shape.

Oh, and MAKE SOME FUCKING FREE THROWS.

This reminds me of games were we outplayed the other teams during the first half and should have been leading by twenty, but the other team kept hanging around, and hanging around and came back to beat us.  Tonight, we are hanging around.

Very tough to match up with these MSU Kansas type teams with 1 usable big man.  Unfortunately next year we only have another wing and PG (Both needed) but all Horford does is take up space and Morgan is about the same,   This is a layup drill game for Kansas, frustrating.  And dont see help coming next year.  Need talented big men coach!

And we just had him slim down. He could get stronger. But do you really think there's more upside for Morgan or Horford? Donald will be where Mitch is, just a freshman, and I'm not sure Bielfeldt isn't anything more than a foul trouble/garbage time player.
