USC - OSU - Predictions and Who Do You Cheer For?

Submitted by Raback Omaba on

As for the second biggest game of the day tomorrow....USC at Ohio State at the Whoreshoe in Columbus.

A Big Ten win would put a dent in our supposed "second tier" status nationally. I'm sick of the country looking at the Big Ten as second tier....and let's face it, the reputation is well deserved. We haven't exactly fared well against the big dogs on the national stage. Additionally, USC has absolutely DOMINATED against the Big Ten.

That being said.....I never cheer for Ohio State. I cannot stand their team, fans, city, school, state....anything associated with the scarlet and gray.

I NEVER CHEER FOR OHIO STATE.

If this were OSU, MSU or any other Big Ten team, I'd be cheering for them....but not Ohio State.

So for tomorrow, I am a Trojan fan.

Prediction: USC 32 OSU20

Ohio State starts out strong, but USC's athletes take over as Barkley settles down and just lets his teammates make plays for him.

Go Trojans.

I believe this should be reserved for Michigan's own mighty Ninja Voltron Offense.

Activate RB force!
O-line connected!
Wide receivers up!
Slot electron receivers are go!

FORM FEET AND LEGS!
FORM ARMS AND TORSO!
AND FORCIER WILL FORM THE HEAD!

LET'S GO NINJA VOLTRON OFFENSE!

So, does anyone else get a kick out of OSUs O-line this year?? I have seen comment after comment and heard several announcers/analysts remark how "off" OSUs o-line is. Navy was getting through that thing all day long. Glad you left, J. Boren(and glad your bro didn't come, too).

Check this article out. Apparently, Justin is the "star" of a dismal unit......I'm OK with that.

BTW - OSU 7 (one TP run), USC 42 they may be about on par with talent as last year, but OSU has taken a step back.

I hate OSU, but I'm of the opinion that conference strength is a huge factor in bowl selection. Last year, single loss USC was left out of the championship game because other than OSU, they didn't really play anyone with a pulse.

Florida and Oklahoma got the nod instead, in my opinion because voters believed their strength of schedule, two thirds of which is dependent on your conference, was better.

That said, I'll be happy either way. I just hope its a good game unlike last year.

I don't really care who wins as long as both teams are worn out for the rest of the year.

I usually have some Machiavellian rationale for wanting one team or the other to win, but it's too early in the season to come up with anything.

(And no, I don't want to watch.)

and I could care less about conference strength. I know it matters in the overall scheme of things, but at this point my hatred for UOS over shadows conference rankings. Call it what you may, but I don't care at this point

USC 38

UOS 7

I'll give them a touchdown this year. I am being generous.

I was a kid at the game when OSU ran on the field and tore down the M Banner before the game. It's indelibly burned into my memory. There isn't any time under any circumstances where I'd root for OSU. Ever notice that they have fired their last 3 coaches? OSU is vile and putrid and deserves nothing but your complete and utter disdain.

USC - 35
That crappy school down south - 14

In games like this I always root for spaceships to come down and start blasting and probing everyone on both teams.
That being said, I believe USC is the lesser of 2 evils, despite what it might say about the Big 10.

I don't respect tOSU enough to spend energy hating them or rooting against them. If they win then it will only be that much sweeter when Michigan beats them.

The shoe is one of the most intimidating places to play in the midwest. Barkley probably has never been to a football game in this part of the country. Barkley has never even met a hillbilly before, seen Deliverance though. The shoe for a night game gives 105,000 hillbillies all day to pound the Natural Light and Milwaukee's Best, get red, get loud, and generally stink. This could be quite intimidating for a preppy kid from the coast. In addition, from a recruiting standpoint TUOOS is the only team USC will play this year that even remotely recruits on the same level. I think they will rise to the occasion. I want them too. We will need that win over a #2 ranked TUOOS at the end of the season to leapfrog to #2 for a chance to kick Florida's ass again. :)

I grew up hating both teams. OSU for obvious reasons and SC for the Rose bowl games when Michigan played them. Now that I'm in Vegas all I hear on ESPN radio is how great USC is and the B10 is irrelevant.

I say both teams suck and if it was at all possible for both teams to lose I'd go with that.

USC 42
OSU 24

I'm not sure what to think on this one, given that it is in Columbus and USC has a true freshman QB. OSU didn't look too good last week and I just don't think this is their year. I'll say USC will win 35-24. It will be close most of the game but USC will pull away at the end of the 4th quarter.

Whatever happens Barkley is going to come out of this game as the hottest thing since sliced bread or one of the biggest douches in college football.

HATE both teams. HATE that whenever we make a Rose Bowl we have to play USC in basically a home game for them. HATE Ohio - the state, the university in Columbus, and their retarded fan base.

Hopefully both teams look bad, OSU covers but loses. USC 24 OSU 21.

Too many Rose Bowls having to listen to that goddamn USC fight song as they whip our ass yet again is a big part of it, but the ideal thing would be for OSU to go undefeated this year and come into Ann Arbor ranked #1 as the presumptive national champion. It would make beating them much sweeter. Don't think it's going to happen, though: USC 35, OSU 23

As much as the Big 10 would benefit from a OSU win, the Pac 10 is similarly viewed as a weak conference and a loss by USC would be detrimental to the conference. I think the Pac 10 may be underrated this year (Oregon jokes aside) and are often getting less credit than they deserve. Fair or not, but the Pac 10 is still viewed as the Pac 1.

As I told a Buckeye coworker (there are two in my office... one is a very classy nice guy... the other, not so much) today, I can hope the Bucks win without actually cheering for them. I'm sick of the Big Ten not winning big games on the national stage.

I will watch the game with great interest, but will not cheer for either team. I hate them both.

USC- 45
tOSU- 21

I never ever ever ever ever cheer for Ohio State, unless an Ohio State loss directly would put Michigan into the Rose Bowl or if an Ohio State loss would give Michigan at least a share of the Big Ten title or something.

In a game this early, out of conference especially, that doesn't directly affect Michigan, I cheer against Ohio State.

So there's no doubt I am rooting for USC. I am not sold on OSU on either side if the ball this year and while USC's defense is rebuilding their strength is in the secondary. Herron and Saine put up a performace like last week then fuhgeddabouit, USC will dominate them like last year. Freshman or not, he has too many weapons at his disposal. I'm going with 42-17 for the Trojans. Oh and I'd LOVE to see Mays get loose on a safety blitz and destroy Pryor.

USC 31
OSU 14

USC has killer offensive line and RB. OSU doesn't even need Barkley to score. USC also has the fastest defense in the country.

And what does OSU have? TP. OSU has no offensive line and less effective RBs and WRs than last year, when they were crushed 35-3.

The only thing that limits OSU's beatdown is that USC is a much different team on the road than at home.

because we match up against them in the future and it benefits us for them to be as highly ranked as possible before we BEAT them. If USC wins, they could very well wind up in a NC game that we are on the outside looking in. I believe it benefits us more if OSU wins.

I think they need this game in the sort of way UM needed the 08 Cap One game. They're at home, and I think Tressel might have something cooked up. I won't be rooting for either.

I think that USC is the more talented team. I don't care for Ohio State. I will watch the game and hope one team destroys the other so at least one of them is out of the national championship picture.

It's cliche, but: My three favorite teams are Meeeechigan and whoever is playing osu and nd.

I can honestly say, I have never wanted osu or nd to win a game. Ever. Unless, of course, it would mean M winning the Big10 (osu) or going to the MNC. Which, IIRC has never happened. (I'm sure someone will correct me it I'm wrong about that.)
