This is amazing.  Cmon UNC.  We win next game and we have a mediocre Florida in the way to the Final 4 where we'll face Miami.

Louisville and their press look very similar to VCU.  Would be a great matchup for us if we make it that to the championship

What a tour de force. My farvorite moments were when they'd turned the ball over 3 times at the beginning of the 2nd half. The commentators were busy spinning the VCU comeback, Then they just shut VCU down.

I don't wish to jinx them, but when one of the talking heads said this team could have beaten any NCAA team today, he was speaking the truth.

Should we root for NC or Kanses? It really doesn't matter. The stronger team will win tomorrow and then our guys just have to beat the winner.

All that aside, I have a question for the more knowledgeable among us. It seems to me that either VCU was seeded to high or Michigan was seeded to low. After all #4 should not beat #5 by 25 points. I'd like to think that Michigan was seeded to low. What do you folks think?

Whatever, go blue win the next one.

Should have been a #3 IMHO. VCU was probably seeded accurately, maybe a line too high. The margin was a result of the meeting of the two styles of play. I knew the game wouldn't be close, though I didn't know which team would win; it all hinged on whether we could break the press or not. If we had turned the ball over 20+ times, we would have lost by double digits.

the momentum really shifted once Theus, had to sit early in the 1st after picking up two quick fouls. With Theus in the game VCU looked tough, deflecting passes and causing turnovers. Smart then called on Brionte Weber, reigning A10 defensice player of the year, to sub in for the senior leader and captain. Thats when UM took over. Weber couldnt stay infront of Burke, constantly getting burned and leaving his bigs on an island. After the blow-by, Burke was left with an easy option of kicking it out to an open shooter spotted up, or drop it off to a big for an easy 2. The 2nd half started much like the first with Theus and VCU wreaking 'havoc', forcing turnovers on UMs first 3 posessions. But, sticking to the script, Theus picked up his 3rd foul soon after, and was consequently replaced by Weber....  Wash, rinse, repeat, and youve got a 25pt win and a trip to the sweet 16.

I don't know.   I don't remember us having many turnovers at the beginning of the game.  We seemed able to get whatever we wanted throughout the first half.   What really changed IMO was that our D started getting stops and that took their press out of the picture entirely.  It was 18-17 midway through the first half and then we went on a 20-4 run.  Take away their press and they're a very average team at both ends.  That press masks a lot of deficiencies.

We did have turnover issues at the beginning of the second half but I thought we just got a little careless, dribbling into the halfcourt trap.  I don't think it was really anything they did that got us out of sync.

GO TAR HEELS!! GO GOPHERS!!

Kansas struggled against WKU, UNC could pull it off.

Minnesota played out of their minds against UCLA. Both Hollins were shooting lights out. Mbakwe can play with Young down low.

Kind of crazy that Bill Self, Roy Williams, Billy Donovan and Tubby Smith all have won national championships and are all facing off today,

I ain't arguing this nonsense, dawgs. It's just my opinion that the muppets are stupid. Mind you, its an opinion supported by the overwhelming preponderance of the evidence, but alas it remains an opinion. I'll continue to skip the stupid muppet posts as I've been doing for the past 3+ years. Y'all can continue to enjoy and laugh, sing, and dance along the make believe sock puppets. It's cool.

From ESPN article, "The 71-point swing by VCU -- from a 46-point win to a 25-point loss -- was the largest in NCAA tournament history. In 1968, Houston beat Texas Christian 103-68 to reach the Final Four, then lost to UCLA 101-69 for a 67-point swing."

On the road back to Dallas from visiting my family in Columbus. So excited to see Michigan get a second opportunity in the Death Star to achieve greatness in the same fiscal year.

IMO Kansas is our best draw. Usually Our w/l is determined by if we show up, not how good or bad our opponent is (PSU). Bring your game against a #8 and all they do is scrap. Put a #1 against the ropes and their balls contract into their stomach.

I think by the Sweet 16, we're going to be fired up no matter what.  I want UNC for two reasons:

1.  Geography.  Dallas is an easy drive for KU fans to make, and they will be out in force if we play them.  It will be basically a road game, whereas if we play UNC it'll be a genuinely neutral site.

2.  Style of play.  Kansas is comfortable playing at a slow pace and has a shotblocking machine in Withey.  UNC wants to run and yet is pretty sloppy.  They play much more to our strengths.
