OPEN THREAD - NCAA Tournament Thursday Afternoon Session
I did something similar with my 6 year old. He's doing alright for now but he has Gonzaga and Kansas falling in the "second" round and Albany in his final four.
in about 15 mins. My bracket is busted with Pitt almost assuredly going down.
Atta girl Wichita State.
Heheheh. You'd think you guys would 've learned by now...Pitt is an awful tournament team. I think it was two years ago they blew it as a #1 seed in the 2nd round.
Chronic tournament underachiever. Another painful loss for them, even earlier than usual. With a move to the ACC and the fact that Pitt has invested heavily in their basketball program (leveling their football field for the basketball arena), I wonder if Jamie Dixon is out? At the very least, he must be on the very hot seat, right?
The Shockers "shock the..." well not really the world but they have me 3-0. Come on St. Mary's!!
Davidson with the lead at half! Keep it up!
What a pretty 3 point shot by St. Mary's.
Neither learn from the 'errors of their ways."
1st time all day no game action til Memphis-St.Mary commercial over
Has anyone found a good international stream yet? Thankfully the Michigan game is on CBS, so that won't be an issue, but I'm definitely missing out on some crucial action for the rest of the day.
EAT SHIT PITT
Pitt is my only loss so far, but i never put them past the round of 62 because they are terrible in the tourny.
Southern's beating Gonzaga!
PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN!
No good...no good...no good :(
Memphis got a good scare
TV Teddy on the Gonzaga game.
Davidson breaking my balls...I know this is gonna end badly.
Holy shit this Marquette game is good.
fucking Davidson
looked way too easy.
Oh wow, that looks fucking familiar. Pissed a 5 point game away with less than a minute. Fuck you Davidson.
Wow. Thank you Marquette. Now you can go and lose to Butler!
in exchange for a Gonzaga loss. Go Southern
I'm begining to think when a team is in Davidson's position (up 7 or so under 1:30) they're better off fouling than allowing an opponent to hit three 3's in last 90 seconds, turn the game literally into a FT shooting contest.Hard to overcome a 7 point lead when both teams take turns shooting 2 FTs
I was thinking the same. Especially if the other team hits three threes in a row.
I remember when he was critciized for delibrately fouling when behind in last few minutes of a game, now that's standard.Maybe the time has come to foul late to protect a lead.
Because nobody else that would have been a worthy candidate played like they wanted it. It's kind of hard to not give the #1 team in the nation anything but a 1 seed.
I'd bet that if Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State or Wisconsin played in the WCC, they'd all have 0 or 1 conferences losses and they'd all have 0-4 losses total. Just because you win a kazillion games against no one doesn't mean you should be a 1 seed. /preachingtothechoir
I completely agree. Personally I think they should have been a 3 seed. I'm just thinking that's what the committee probably thought and teams like Duke that could have been a 1 decided to flame out.
Because playing unranked opponents for the last two months of your season is difficult.
I never wish a 16-1 upset on any #1 seed. Evar.
I dunno, I saw him when they played Kansas in Stillwater and he was pretty awesome then. That's the only game I've seen of his though
Gonzaga's lead now 54-52 with 5 minutes left.
#1 seed indeed.
Ohio....
this Gonzaga-Southern game is the best play-in game I've ever seen
....wait a second
