It's way too prevalent, and athletic departments don't take it seriously enough. Instead, women get told not to get drunk and never be alone with guys. Some accusations will be false. Some will be true. But the worst thing is pretending this isn't an issue embedded in our sports culture -- and not making damn sure that athletes don't rape, and how to avoid situations that are in the grey area in the first place.

Stuff like Steubenville, the Vanderbilt case, what's gone done at Yale, this, the Gibbons case from years ago -- they all just make me really sad. Regardless of any guilt or innocence in any particular situation, the facts are that a whole lot of male athletes believe they're entitled to sex with any woman they want. That's the real problem.
