Well it is the big ten. Our officials don't call intentional fouls, and can't get the whole charge vs blocking calls right.
....the refs pussed out of calling an obvious intentional foul. They huddle together and then decide to not make the right call because the game would be over. They should have called it against Craft and didn't and we were lucky to pull it out. They screwed us this time. Bullshit. The rule isn't in place for the refs to decide if the situation supports actually making it. I hate B1G refs.
Yes.... make your free throws..... but still.
Yep... I couldn't remember who the player was when I responded but after I read craft it all came back to me.
When the zebs huddled I turned to my wife and said, "They're discussing how to explain how it wasn't intentional/flagrant b/c if they call it, the game's over. And they just don't have the balls to do that."
I'm ill.
Credit Indiana for good late-game strategy though
Pretty much common sense. You're down multiple possessions, so of course you foul.
W... T... H...
total choke job by the entire team at the line
Make free throws.
THREAD OVER
No snowflakes. Just sad kittens.
We got outrebounded by 21, which is just a complete disgrace. At this point, I just expect choking everytime either football or basketball plays a big game.
that was a pretty epic choke. lets just get them out of the way before the tournament
yea, cause no way this team doesn't choke again.
Cannot win games, B1G or NCAA if you don't rebound the goddamn ball. How many second, third and fourth chances did IU have? Too fucking many. It's been an issue all year. I'm thinking Sweet 16 and out at best. FML.
Beilein continually puts in lineups with only one big and that kills us on the boards. The only way we overcome this is by hitting a huge no. of outside shots or hit all our FT's. You live by the sword and you die by the sword.
You can't win championships if you're unwilling/unable to get your hands dirty. You need strong, competent bigs willing to work. I hate finesse basketball teams.
When this year has a double big lineup worked? McGary was in foul trouble all game. Would you prefer Horford and Morgan?
Beilein needs to start recruiting a couple more bigs and couple less guards. You need to have a strong inside. Shooting teams can win games, but you need post players when the shots won't drop. Don't get me started on rebounding.

McGary had some dumb fouls, but the bigger issue was the refs fellating Zeller all game. Fuck that noise.
Look back at the game and ask yourself just how many times did our guards help our bigs out on the boards... Every time down the guards wanted to stand and try to out jump VO and Zeller for boards and we see the result. Go back to basics. Put an ass on a guy and move him out of the lane and we win by 10+ today. Guards killed us on the boards. End of story.

...and Oladipo had seven offensive rebounds. That has nothing to do with how many bigs are on the floor. No big would ever be assigned to Oladipo. If you did so just to keep him from getting offensive rebounds, he'd drive and dunk all game long.
Nobody has mentioned this, and I love the kid, but THJ is just not a good player. Shoots a low percentage, takes way too many bad shots, gets beat off the dribble like nobody's business, causing a lot of our defensive woes this year, and wouldn't box out if he worked for UPS. Oladipo was Hardaway's man today. FAIL.

THJ is a great player. He's hit a cold streak in terms of shooting lately but the guy can drive it in like a pro when he decides to. Beilein (spelling) needs to teach him how to box a guy out bc 7 boards for Oladipo is ridiculous. He also needs to go inside more and not pull up every damn time.
...is the dumbest thing I've read on here in a long time, maybe ever. He can teach all he want, but he can't make a guy do it.
At the end then they would have won with these exact rebounding numbers, so I guess you can win. Also, see the MSU he game
i think this game just shows this is a average team in a average year of college bball. i will not e surprised one bit if this team makes the final four or loses tne first game in. And thats just sad. Exciting but sad.
I think calling this team an "average team" might be a bit of an understatement but ok.
...at our guys to "BLOCK OUT!!" Apparently, they didn't hear me.
Yeah I was yelling that too... In the first half and got tired of it. Then I started yelling "HIT A FUCKING FREE THROW!!" And They didnt hear that either
I mean...how in theeeee fuck?!
God damn free throws....oh and of course another interntional foul not called in the last minute of play.
We need guys that can rebound. If we could rebound, we'd be a terror. But we can't, so icing games is effing hard.
Make your damn free throws.
Gotta make free throws. All there is to it.
I love Morgans defense. But he's got to have better touch than a goddam caveman on the offensive end.
Also...free throws and rebounding. Ugh. I'm sick to my stomach.
We had a ton of chances. Indiana didn't play their best game. Turns out they didn't have to.
Why is it that in late game situations, people can just score at will on us? WTF
You don't watch basketball, do you? Teams up 2+ possessions always allow easy twos in order to not give a guy a +1.
I do, but it's pretty obvious you don't, considering it happened twice when we were only up one possession, and on one such occasion, we fouled Zeller.
I'm sorry but at home your best players need to make free throws. If its not one thing its the other. when is this team going to play a complete game? Lets see if this team can get it together before next week and take down IU in the semi-finals
So they miss free throws and you degrade them by calling them ladies...come on you're better than that
And you just bolstered a use of 'ladies' in a derogatory manner. Yes, its 1985 all over again.
Nothing will salvage this season unless we make the F4. Anything short of that will keep the bitterness high til next year.
Bad no call on that intentional but this team had the opportunity to win this game.
Has anybody seen Hardaway's game in the last month?
I'm done with this shit. Make a fucking ft "player of the year".
Burke should have hit a free throw, but he is not the problem. See rebounding and Hardaway!
He was pretty great defensively all game. Offensively took what was available.
Of course he missed that front end...
EDIT: This was supposed to be in response to the Hardaway complaint above.
