Hardaway took too many 3's, especially early in the shot clock. He was terrific when he attacked the basket, but he didn't do it consistently.
to mid 2000's anymore. We have expectations with this team..we had none back then. Anyway I dont give a crap what team it is.. losing a game that way with a conference title on the line pisses people off. Let them vent..we need to fucking vent
OK. I will allow the masses to vent.
I just wish many people would've vented elsewhere, because insinuating that Trey Burke - potential NCAA POY and the guy who kept us in that game in the second half - sucks is kinda asinine.
1-4 on the final four free throws really says everything that needs to be said about that game.
everybody loses.
HA! Sparty successfully trolled.
Btw, if isn't an intentional foul on Watford, what is?
It was but seriously does it matter?
When you miss four of five free throws all the intentional does is give Michigan more opportunities to miss more free throws.
Free throws AND the ball back. That second one basically seals the game.
It was a bad call, but when you have an opportunity for four free points afterwards, it becomes nothing more than an excuse.
Sorry, this is complete bullshit. If the refs botched the game, they botched the game. It's not an excuse, it's what happened.
The fact that my post was downvoted and the two connected to it are at or near 5 upvotes only proves that Michigan's fanbase is not special and is just as delusional as any other.

I don't see anyone blaming the refs. I see people pointing out that a bad call contributed to the loss. There's nothing wrong with that.
Jordan Morgan missing a bunny is the correct ending for that game. #GoBlue
The Indiana player is flopping without Burke being close to him.
Seriously we all know why this happened.
1) Poor interior defense.
2) Missed Free Throws
Still a good showing by such a young team.
Well, if you miss a bunch of 1-and-1's, you'll give the team a chance. A tough loss, but the team still has a chance to have a good run.
In his defense our bigs couldn't play defense without fouling. Once everyone had 3 fould in the first half, he didn't have much choice. Besides, size isn't why we got outrebounded. Effort is why.
- Intentional foul, please?
- Foul on Burke's drive to the basket (possible, but not too upset they didn't call it - like they didn't call against Burke vs. OSU's Craft).
- Morgan, Morgan, too many bunnies missed, none more than the last tip-in - which wasn't too easy, but still.
- Defensive rebounding, the real reason we lost.
- FTs down the stretch.
ANYONE of these goes our way, we win. But we lost. This hurt, but I'm OK. Fucking glad I have a team like Michigan to cheer for. If you didn't enjoy this game, then you shouldn't be watching sports at all.
Yes, i am completely sick of watching morgan or one of our other bigs miss a fucking gimme layup.. Mcgary has a wide open pass from burke and he tries to lay it up? WTF.. you broke backboards in summer ball, and you miss easy layups?
This team can't play defense for 40 minutes. They can't rebound because they don't box out. They let Burke do too much hero-ball. That is a recipe for getting upset in the tournament.
Totally. Moments of great D but also moments of NO FUCKING D AT ALL!!! Boxing out is bball 101. Kids learn it when they're 5 years old. Why don't we?
It's not like we were blown out.
They made some clutch shots to stay in it when Indiana went all Zeller-palooza. No getting around it, our size doesn't quite match up. With foul trouble, I have to think so many substitutions on our Bigs has to throw off the rhythm. No excuses, the game was ours for the taking. Young team, will learn, etc.
Wish they would have called the intentional on Watford, obviously. But yeah, make your free throws and the game is over. I'm just hoping this isn't the emotional backbreaker that essentially kills the teams remaining focus.
if GRIII goes up strong with both hands, the hack on the shoulder wouldn't have jarred the ball loose. he was going to a one-handed jam. that's a huge problem with this team, nobody takes it up strong.
All the snowflakes have melted and are smoldering on the ground in puddles of sadness
So frustrating... We had the game in hand and just let it slip away.
I'm whatever. We experience joy (the whole start of the season). Then heartbreak (Ohio State first time). Then joy again (Ohio State second time). Then heartbreak (Michigan State first time, Wisconsin, Penn State). Then joy (Michigan State and Ohio State second time). Then heartbreak (This.).
It hurts because this was for a title and we had it locked down but it's one we could have won many games ago. Hope we do great in the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments
agree. And cool, because we beat OSU twice already?
Apparently it was that good so I had to say it twice. Whoops.
We brought this on ourselves. Total choke, not helped by the fact we pissed away our timeouts. That last possession was every awful Burke countdown possession and Morgan hilariously botched putback rolled into one total, epic fail.
The one thing that makes me happy is negging all of your posts.
That last possession was every awful Burke countdown possessionDisagree . . . he actually attacked the basket this time, which he rarely does on iso possessions. Usually he's settled for a fadeaway three. He made a nice move this time but just missed.
My illness aside, game of the year in the B1G. Glad we were in it, even if we didn't win.
- Defensive intensity was better. We're not going to be a "lock down" defensive team, but it went better
- Make free throws
- Make layups
The intentional foul call wasn't the problem, getting outrebouded by about 30 was the goddamn problem. A women's HS team would scrap harder on the boards. Screw this
i would have rather lost by 10
Anyone who thinks a team with this kind of rebounding, defense, and poise in close games is going to sniff the Final Four is out of his mind.
Never. Run. Out. Of. Timeouts.!
