MBB 2nd Half Thread vs. Indiana

Submitted by San Diego Mick on

Alright, Shaky start but good play by our boys most of the way, we need to keep it going.

I figured I'd start another thread cause the other one was getting slow per usual.

Go Blue, let's put up another banner!

It could be better, but let's not forget that IU missed shots the should've made as well.

In the end, I'd say 33-30 is about right. The biggest issue to me is the fouls called when people guard Zeller. THAT is a joke.

In the end, it was our defensive intensity that carried us to the lead. We have to maintain that. We played with it for about 14 minutes of the 1st half. If we can get a full 20 minutes in the 2nd half with that intensity, we win.

Anyone know the foul situation right now?

They put THJ at PG and had him bring the ball up the floor.

It slowed us down, but we were scoring when we made this move.

Another move I'd make is put Spike in and have him run PG.

Don't be hardheaded in this case, if they're going to put him on Burke, don't fight it and be stubborn. If he's on Burke, he's NOT on THJ. He's NOT on Stauskas.

Play Burke at SG where he'll still get his looks, and keep it rolling. Also look for THJ to assert himself even more if they stay with this move.

Shoot guys, Beilein just got a technical for telling our bigs to continue defending Zeller hard int he second half. According to the ref, mentioning defending Zeller is clearly an instance of instigation by a coach that needs to be stopped.

My big criticism is (shared by many) the fouls that anyone guarding Zeller seems to get.  Given our start and play throughout the half, a 3 point lead seems about right.

Can't touch him without getting a foul.  Even without touching him, guys still get called.  B1G refs are a disgrace.

Good thing is we're playing tough D and being tough in the paint.  So, I like where we're at at the half.

for these big games. Scrolling through 450 already read comments to get to the twenty you haven't read can be time consuming. Honestly, I wouldn't complain about quarterly threads if the game is big enough (and basketball had, you know, quarters).
