For seeding potential in the BTT anyway, you would definitely want to see an unlikely Penn State win. If they did in fact pull it off, then our game seals our fate essentially as either the 3 or 4 seed in the Big Ten Tournament. In the more likely scenario of Wisconsin winning, it's likely between the 3 and 5 seed. An Illinois win (again, presumed unlikely), would give us a slightly better than 50/50 shot at the 2-seed, but then we would need to win as well - it would be either 2 or 4 in that scenario.

Newbill and Marshall killed us with their penetration.    These guys *should* be able to penetrate against Brust and Jackson, right?   If not, then I will officially cede my soul to Bo Ryan's team defense philosophy.

to go until the game. Combination of nervous and excited.  Looking forward to it so much though.  Not gonna watch the other games leading up to ours though, I've got grad school studying to do for midterms.

Hopefully they can hold on in the second half - would be nice to see Wisky relegated to the first round of the BTT, as well as give PSU a third conference win to make our loss less stigmatizing.

PSU is going to finish in last place but nevertheless, I think Pat Chambers has done a really nice coaching job this season.   They've lost a lot of games but have clearly gotten better as the year has gone on.  They did not quit on the season.

Penn States press is forcing Wisconsin to speed up and it's clearly getting into the Badgers heads. Love it

If you would have shown me Penn State's last 4 games (Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, and this game against Wisconsin), and Purdue's last 3 (Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota) with no context at all about how good they were or what their records are, I would peg them for something like a 20-10 record with 9-9 or something like that in conference.  To imagine that Purdue was 6-6 out of conference, and Penn State was well... Penn State. Crazy how well these teams are playing.  Maybe Purdue makes a run in the BTT?

Kenpom's system thinks Wisconsin is unlucky because their record is worse than you would expect based on their efficiency numbers. But kenpom has always calculated Wisconsin's efficiences and thus their quality of play to be much better than they are because there is something about the slow tempo 80-40 wins over Wisconsin-Rinkydinkville that makes his system think Wisconsin is dominating people every year. Love kenpom and it is the best ratings system out there but every year it overrates Wisconsin. Anyway, they are 7-4 in games that are 6 points or less this year (2 possessions) so hardly unlucky by any rationale measure and that doesn't even account for Brust's shot being like a 1% shot.
