Roh says watch out for Wormley

Submitted by ATLalumni on

Big praise from @craigroh88 aimed at @chris_wormley43. Called Wormley "the 12th stage of evolution" for gaining 30 lbs of muscle in camp!

30 lbs of muscle!  Guy was already a beast at 6'5 270.  Sounds like he's destined for 3-tech, although if he's athletic enough i don't mind a 300lb 5-tech

chris wormley may be a great physical specimen but he is mostly a large bag of salt water just like the rest of us.

if he indeed has 300 pounds of muscle, his total body weight  would likely exceed 600 pounds.  the rest being: bone, cartilage, blood, skin, internal organs, etc.

I suspect the tweet was worded imprecisely.  It was presumably in camp that Roh praised Wormley for adding the 30 lbs. of muscle, not that the entire 30 lbs. was added in camp.

Gaining 30 lbs of pure muscle in a whole year would be pretty unlikely, let alone 6 weeks.  Chances are he gained 30 lbs of "mostly good" weight.  I am a kinesiology major and from what I have read it is generally accepted that the average person can expect to gain 10 lbs of muscle in a year on a good program.  Wormley is clearly not the average person and is benefitting from world class training and diet advice, so his expectations would be higher, but not 30 lbs in 6 weeks high.  I would bet that 30 lbs is maybe ~20 lbs muscle and was gained in closer to 6-12 months.  There is nothing wrong with putting on some weight from fat in a sport such as football so long as speed and power is maintained.   This is beside the point though, dude is big and getting strong as he should be with Michigan's S&C staff.
