Les Miles stepping down?

Submitted by ThadMattasagoblin on

If it's true, it doesn't really effect Michigan except for coaches we could potentially poach.

Sam McGaw @sammcgaw There are rumors that LSU head football coach Les Miles will step down on Monday after allegedly having an affair with a student. Hmm..

Jacob J Mayer @jacobjmayer Rumors going around that Les Miles is resigning Monday. Haven't seen anything to back it up, but Tigerdroppings admins are working overtime

The first twitter handle mentioned belongs to a student reporter from Western Kentucky University, who admits he saw the rumor on recruiting message boards. There is zero chance this is true, and it's stunning that anyone would believe something of that magnitude was even a possibility without even looking into the source.

....I wouldn't be surprised if it were true, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were false.

There's a strong case made for both outcomes.

At the end of the day, we've got the right guy, and that's all that really matters.  And, that whatever Les Miles did or didn't do isn't worse than what Joe Paterno did.

A native of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, Dileo attended Parkview Baptist High School in Baton Rouge, where he became the only player in the school's history to accumulate 1,000 receiving yards and 5,000 all-purpose yards. He set the school's records with 73 catches for 1,193 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also played baseball as a second baseman and led the school's baseball team to consecutive state championships

Didn't mean to imply you did. I meant for it to be like, hey OP, check out this tweet that pretty much confirms we were going all TMZ the last few hours. Edit: Derp. The first thing I wrote was specifically directed at a certain poster who was not the OP. When I deleted the other posters handle from the post I left the "you". As usual, Raoul comes out looking good and I look dumb. Such is life...

It'd be the loss of a freaking national treasure!

Uh... unless they get Ed Orgeron to come be their head coach. It doesn't get more Bayou than Orgeron.

examples of why we need the old voting system. A "5" just doesn't capture how hard you guys have made me laugh this otherwise boring Saturday night.

Even if it is true, its not big news to us. We're set in our coaching staff unless Les decides he really wants to coach just the D-Line and recruit. He'd be a big plus on that front, otherwise, meh. I hope its not true; otherwise, there's no one in the SEC West to stand up to Saban for the foreseeable future.
