I for one would be in favor of seeing Jim Herrmann comeback as a linebacker coach and having Mattison mover to DL coach. Just think about the attention Michigan will get from recruits with 2 former NFL coaches.

No. As much as I hate to admit it, Mattison will eventually have to retire and I don't want Jim Herrmann around when that happens.

Since most head coaches, like AD's have unofficial "lists" of future replacements, I would imagine that Hoke has already made a few phone calls. Whoever it is, I'm pretty sure the sky isn't going to fall over the departure of one coach.
As usual, I'm going to trust Brady Hoke to bring the right coach in.

All of this talk about a LB coach..... what then happens with current LB coach Mark Smith? Has he only been coaching the middle LBs anyway?

From the sounds of it, it's going to be someone to coach the outside LBs. I assume they will go with someone young who can be primarily a good recruiter.

why dont we just hire the d-line manager? heard hes been there since Hokes been there and knows his football. did he graduate? can he recruit? lol!
