Submitted by Fhshockey112002 on

This tweet was just retweeted by Tremendous Twitter account. Glad to see the maturity in this young man.  Hope he is right.

Would like to apologize to our fans, alum, UofM, and all of wolverine nation for the performance displayed lastnight. Will not happen again.

In no way should the kids have to apologize, they played an awful game we all saw it, but he shouldn't have to apologize to us for it. You don't think they feel bad enough about the game already? These kids work their asses off on the court and in the class room, if they start acting like thugs and representing the university as a whole poorly then they should apologize, but not for losing a basketball game....

It was more than just an awful game, this team got manhandled and then....it appeared to me they flat out quit. This team and coaching staff needs to take a serious look in the mirror because you just can't perform like that against your rival if you want to be considered a good program. Quitters should not ever wear a Michigan uniform, and that's what they appeared to be last night.

you will have the opportunity to play more games. We have all had a bad game, bad day, whatever. You have been a class act. After all, it is just a game. Welcome sparty back  to AA by giving it your best. Go Blue!

Good of him to not make excuses, recognize the situation, and acknowledge fan frustration.

That said, there's no need to apologize, just work to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I think that game last night was evidence that THJ needs to and I think will stay at Michigan for his senior season.

Just beat their asses at home on 3/3 and I'll be happier than ever.

That's sweet.

I'd like to see an apology from the so-called Michigan fans last night who were tweeting things like "Corey Person is on the court now, so it's really over, HALOL"  I saw crap like that from multiple people.  Last night sucked from a fan perspective so maybe we weren't at our best selves.  Regardless, it is so low, IMO, to yuck it up over the rare playing time of the kids who work just as hard but don't get minutes [and who, incidentally, weren't responsible for the travesty one the scoreboard].

I didn't see a real shot at the title anyway . Hard to win in the B1G when your best lineup has 4 players under 6'7 and thin. Coach B needs to change his strategy . It's looking like RR football out there ( the good stretches) we can beat the mediocre teams but just get out physicaled playing against any serious comp

with a

6' PG, 6'4" SG, 6'6" SF, 6'4" PF and 6'8" C on the starting line up with a 6'8" PF/C and 6'4" SG/SF on the roster?  They had no depth and was probably the least talented B1G to win(or share) the B1G title?

This year team is 10000x more talented than last year team.  They just went through arguably the toughest stretch of any team in the country. Playing 3 quality teams on the road and one quality team at home is no joke.

I didnt realize the coaches or players owed you an apology.  I had the option of turning the channel last night but didnt.  You should contact your sat/cable provider and let them know that you are interested in upgrading your package to "not just espn."

It's outrageous that ESPN let the Zombie Warning Hacker hijack the  game last night.  What I saw was more unbelievable than Capricorn One.

At least I know the security guy at ESPN got fired today and WE DEFINITELY WON'T be seeing any more alternate-reality Michigan games.

If he feels the need to apologize (and I'm not saying that he should or should not), his apology should be to himself, his coaches, his teammate and no one else.

THJ seems like a good guy...hope he rebounds from this performance.

These players have no need to apologize. They didn't play well. So what? It happens. I like that players feel they need to apologize, but there is no shame in losing a game unless you did it intentionally. Hopefully they'll clear their heads and play that much better next time out.

To all the fans that are jumping off the bridge right now. Relax, our schedule has been tough and we lost road games to tough in conference teams. Let's wait to write-off this team until we finish out our schedule and get Indiana and MSU at home and continue to beat the mediocre teams at home and on the road.

Id rather hear one from Glenn Robinson, who looks both homesick and dis-interested... Robinson has lately become a liability ever since the talk about him being a high draft pick.

"If he is sorry, run the table, have the team play hustle defense, etc."

While Tim himself can hustle more and improve defensively, he doesn't control "running the table".  Congrats on being realistic.

Capitalizing "me" makes your comment sound whiny, needy and selfish.  Maybe it's just ME.

I just meant an apology is not necessary but if he becomes a leader then the team should win out, maybe dropping one more. SHOW (michigan fans, which includes me) that the team is going to work harder (by effort in the upcoming games). Tweeting is dumb.

Tim has a huge role in controlling if they run the table, he is probably our 2nd best player and plays a crucial role. If he steps up his game the team would feed off of that.

And it is just YOU. This team winning 5 of 6 or all 6 is realistic, especially if THJ displays a greater leadership role.

Like I said in another thread. All of the losses have come on the road, to teams that are currently ranked. People need to get some perspective. 5 years ago this team was having the worst season in program history at 10-22. This year, they're a top-10 basketball team off of a conference championship and are getting national attention.

I think if you told any of us that 5 years ago, we'd be jumping for joy.

here's a kid who does everything his teammates and the coaches ask of him, and people want to tear him down because he didn't [make a ball go through a hoop] enough times for their liking.

Not saying we have a lot of that on this site, although it exists more than I previously thought, but some people's grip on reality is just completely skewed. For the people out there "owed" an apology, they lost a fucking game; it's far a personal affront to anyone watching from the bleachers/couch/bar.

As funny as this is, if you really analyze this video, his outburst is so perfectly controlled...and in my opinion, makes it so much more effective. I use to laugh at it (and I still do, occasionally) but I am way more impressed with his ability to stay in control. Also notice that he does not swear once.

FWIW, I think his delivery is maybe a bit over the top intense but his message about 18 year old kids is probably well meaning and accurate.

Creepy how the camera pans to the offending 23 year old writer on the end.

I suspect, after a game like last evening, a bit of perspective is indicated when it comes to expectations for student/athletes.

Lot of season left to play.

because he had a ridiculous line mixed in, but that rant just made me think he'd be a great coach to play for. How many coaches will throw an underperforming (especially when it's not a star in question) athlete under the bus? I've seen more than enough of that to realize how rare someone having your back can be.

And then the Oklahoma shirt on the gardner thing happened and I took a lot of those feelings back; the guy might just be completely insane.

I bit my tongue on multiple occasions in the past few days on the board.  I was very disappointed in some of the discourse.   I recall a comment that "THJ has no excuse to go 1 for 11 from the field".   No excuse?   You obviously haven't played competitive basketball to make a comment like this.   1 for 11 games happen.   They suck.   But we move on and cheer the team harder during the next game.

It seems pretty obvious to me that the quality and tone have both gotten a lot worse.

The amount of negative shit people are willing to throw at the kids that play for UM, the recruits who choose our school (or heaven forfend a different school), and on and on and on is astounding.

First I gave up game threads. Then post game threads. Then most recruiting threads. Now seemingly every post has the kind of stuff that we see in this post. It has me to the point that I've just about decided to stop looking at comments and board posts altogether, and just read the main page through Google Reader.

Does not matter if he needs to apologize or not.  He wanted to and did.  Love this team.  Will root for him and everyone that plays at Michigan now and in the future.  Will root for their success after Michigan as well.
