Thursday Night College Hoops (Drinks, anyone?) Thread

Submitted by B-Nut-GoBlue on

So...

Indiana @ Illinois, tipping off now 7:00 ET, ESPN

N.C. St. @ Duke 9:00 ET ESPN3 (WTF, this is really not on a cable network??!)

And for basketball enthusiasts here's a good night to catch the sneaky good Oregon team in action....Colorado @ Oregon 10:00 ET ESPNU

Go Illini!  (Let's not hold our breath)

NC State at Duke is probably on midatlantic cable / local TV network -- lots of big ACC games are.  I think ESPN doesn't have primary rights to all ACC games.  It's just a guess -- living in Wash DC metro area, sometimes you find Duke/UNC games on Channel 20 here, not ESPN.  I'm guessing that's the case with NC State / Duke.

Go Illini / Wolfpack !

Just rewarded myself shoveling this wet-ass slop snow with a Lagunitas Sucks DIPA. Any Hopslam fans out there? This gives it a hard run and it is $8-$10 cheaper a 6-pack. Go buy 2 since it is limited release.

I am currently drinking a Walking Potion, which is 10 parts sugar, 90 parts whiskey (I made mine with Woodford Reserve for the curious). Then I'll be moving on to some crisp Busch Light in honor of my college days. Go Illini! Catch fire!

I know this is off topic, but everyone is always talkin about how Jack Miller is so small. Well, there he is next to Bosch and he doesn't seem very small

Indiana is sporting an effective FG% of over 60% right now, and Illinois had reverted to their mean with an effective FG% of around 40%. Illinois is actually a 7.5 point underdog in this game, according to some sites, but then if you want Illinois to beat the spread, you might have to hope for the Illini to do the only thing that they statistically do better than Indiana - get blocks (about one more per game on average).

that Indiana gets away with a shit ton of feet shuffling and Zeller does that in particular along with his sharp elbows he uses and doesn't get called for.

Opposing coaches should start bitching about it constantly and maybe wake up the refs to at least consider calling him for fouls.

I hate Crean's reaction after he gets a call. It's like he's proud of himself for successfully bitching to the refs enough to have them give him favorable calls.
