That was a lot of stress to just hold serve.

Hardaway and Burke stepped up when they needed to, and that was the difference.

I thought Beilein had a pretty bad game. The late game thing is nothing new. They very rarely run a real set there and it very rarely works. I've been complaining about it for close to two years.

The fact that UM only went to a single possession of zone when they were getting owned on that end of the floor is strange to me.

I guess I understand the hero-ball thing in the NBA with guys like Kobe or Lebron.  I don't watch much NBA ball to be honest, but obviously highlights show enough.  Trey Burke isn't them though.  He's not even a Deshaun Thomas-type.  You're right to be complaining about the end of clock plays or lack there-of, I'm with you.  Once in a while, like the Burke shot against Indiana before half, I guess I'm okay with.  It just so happens that shot went in otherwise I'd probably have been pissed about that was well.  But the caliber of players on this roster right now deserve a better "play-call" even if one wants to wind the clock down to one absolute shot. (Trey Burke ain't Lebron or MJ.

One thing I'd sure have liked to see is actually running a play instead of isoing Burke at the end of a half, once in a while.  I mean, Burke is kind of good, but (and may I choke on these words) so is Craft.  Good time to try and do something other than "let's see what Trey can do with the ball."

Is craft, but I loved the d Burke showed he was capable of...in spurts he looked equal to Craft.

Thought grIII needs to get his second wind. Seems out of last two games.

When mcgary has an offseason to get in beast shape and a touch better pos move...he might be an all American. Definitely new favorite player so much fun to watch his hustle heart.

Thj legendary performance tonight.

Loved big three from Stauskas late.

1. Ohio got 7 points from the refs. Craft's three, Thomas' two free throws when Burke did not touch him and we had a stop. The offensive goaltending that should've been called.

2. Ohio hasn't dominated bball and football since Hoke stepped onto campus.

"Karma's a bitch, though.  Craft's 3 point heave with clearly no time left on the clock + flagrant foul on GRIII.  I don't feel bad about the non-call at the end."

Craft is a good defender but i hate when people like Dickie V drool over his defense and how he could play in the nba because of it. He hand checks alot and that wont fly in the nba. That is the only way he can neutralize quicker guards. If the ref didnt officiate his reputation and actually call the game he would have 3-4 fouls a game.

1. McGary is not yet ready to log a whole game. He looked exhausted at times and the D suffered. We need Morgan back soon to keep the rotation fresh.
2. Holy Hardaway. That was awesome.
3. Horrors has to be more physical. Without Morgan he has to be big inside.
4. We are at the level where we are beating very good teams on off nights. Man am I excited for sat/next Tuesday.

There is no mention of the position of the ball in the wording of the flagrant rule. Hitting someone in the face and getting a flagrant is a chance you take when you wind up and swing your arm in a dangerous manner. Game situation should have no relevance to foul calls. My number one pet peeve about officiating.

It had nothing to do with Craft. They didn't call it because they didn't want to affect a great game with a whistle.

They did the same thing TWICE that went in Michigan's favor. The Burke block and the last play of the game.

At least it was consistant. They made up their minds that they weren't going to be the story...and they let it play out. So be it. We took advantage and won the game.

But I don't think you can say they didn't call it cause it was Craft. Did they not call the Burke block because it was Burke? No, they just swallowed the whistles at the end of the game. Period.

got a flagrant and a suspension a couple years ago for the inadvertant, but flagrant elbow to the face thing.  That gets called tonight, game over.  No need for any Buckeye crying over the play on Craft; the flagrant gets called, Craft's play doesn't matter.

Thank you, united airlines first class and free directv, which allowed me to watch the entire first half in the air! Caught most of the 2nd half at the hotel. Awesome game, GO BLUE!

Refs are there to make sure the game doesn't get out of control, not to be a major factor/component of how the game plays out.  A lot of (no)calls affected both sides way too much tonight and it seems like that's way to common so far in Big Ten play.  No officiating crew is perfect, but from what I've seen this season, the crews outside of our own conference, in general, play much less of a role in the game's outcome.  Something needs to change, but it probably won't.  Heaven forbid anyone with any sort of say speaks out against poor officiating.

but I think they wanted the players to decide the game. Really the coaching by both teams in OT was very questionable and better play calling could have pulled it out for either side. Perhaps they were exhausted as the players and fans?

There is no substitute for games like this. Both teams will be better for it. I just would like to see our freshman grow up faster and not give me so many ulcers.

come tournament time.  I think Big Ten teams are learning to play bad defense that they will not get away with in March.  On the other hand - Michigan doesn't typically defend this way, so maybe I shouldn't be too worried about it.

Still, imagine how good we may be in March playing games where there's no guard hand-checking Burke the whole game.  No interior defenders body-checking GRIII and Stauskas as they drive to the basket.  No Cody Zeller coming over GRIIIs back to tip slam.

In the Big 10 going into the tournament in 1 month in march...whats more important the first conference game or the second?

ITS ALWAYS THE SECOND GAME BABY! We beat them when they were ranked higher, later in the season and...yea...ohio is a good team, but they won't make it as deep in the tourney as we will...they won't have a chance to defend themselves until next year!

Here's to you ohio fans...I'm starting the countdown clock....see you in 300 some days!

Over at 11w half the bux fans are pissed with the no call at the end and the other half are pissed Thomas didn't touch the ball at the end of the game. Natural reactions I guess.

THJ was unbelievable in the 2nd half.

McGary kept us in the first half.

OT was frustrating as hell; finally getting stops, but settling for outside jumpers for the most part.  And our frosh kept missing in the paint when we did drive (and get hacked without calls, but it all evened out in the end).

Wish Trey would stop trying to emulate Chauncey Billups.  RUN THE OFFENSE, not a step-back three on a guy who has 4 inches on you.
