Don't forget the phantom foul on Burke when Thomas took that shot from the free throw line and airballed.... even though noone touched him. That's 7 for the buckeyes plus the borderline flagrant in overtime.

Junior is the hero tonight. He went supernova in the 2nd half.

Jeez Beilein, it took you until 4:20 in the 2nd half to bring in a big lineup...

Hats off to OSU. This was a game you wanted to hit the reset button on your Xbox - people making unforced errors leading to turnovers and OSU capitalized on every one of them.

Michigan fanbase love mcgary loonnngg time.

LOL Craft had his jimmies rustled at the end LOL. How's it feel to have the shoe on the other foot? Getting outphysicaled and knocked around.

If we do not learn to play big more often and more quickly we are going to be bounced from the tourney from some Syracuse like team, no questions asked. Size. Big. Lineups. Please Coach Beliein. Take lessons from this near disaster

Great game but man, we need Jordan Morgan back ASAP.  Our interior D and defensive rebounding are not the same without him.  Ohio seemed to rebound every one of its misses over the last 10 minutes of regulation.

Ironically, the sort of shot that drove many (including me) crazy as the last shot of regular time was the only field goal of overtime. I have much less of a no...no...no... impulse with Trey, though, because he can hit it.

Sometimes.  Defensive rebounding needs some work, too - c'mon boys, put a body on someone!  Overall toughness - like Beilein said - we don't always drive to the basket with authority.  We get blocked a lot on penetration.  If you go in there tough, you get the foul more often.  Trying to finess it all the time leads to a lot of rejection...

...I've felt our defense is underrated. I've changed my mind. Great game. Ohio is a tough matchup for us, and OSU mostly played out of their mind. But we have got to play tougher on the D end. We can't just wait for the O to bail us out.

after losing an emotional game 3 nights ago in Bloomington. McGary grew up tonight and we need Stauskas and Robinson to do the same. Rest well boys and get ready to grind out the next two games on the road.

McGary also had an extremely good game, and I haven't seen many props for him. 14 points I think on 7 of 13 shooting with 6 rebounds. Not bad for a freshman in a really tough environment. Those 14 points were what Michigan missed in the IU game, no big man made a good impact on offense in that game.

We need to do the little things better. There's no stats or glory for boxing out, but ya gotta do it.
Improve defensive rotations...box out...MCGARY THROW IT DOWN...less heroball...Morgan get healthy. And can we start taking it to the teeth of the defense, please?

Don't do it.   The man is a demon defensively.

Other snowflakes:

1. Our d-rebounding needs to pick up the pace.   Way too many second chances.

2.  McGary is getting better and better.  I didn't think he could handle increased minutes, but he played very well in back-to-back games.

3.  Hitting lots of 3 pointers is fun to watch.

4.  Utilize pump fakes against shot blocker.   Williams and Thompson both elevate with any shooting motion.  Pump fakes would draw a ton o' fouls against that combo.

Hated what we did on D and what we called on O for the end of the game.  Having said that, we had some big stops defensively in OT, boys toughed it out when needed to.  Time to grow up fast for GRIII and Stauskas

...looked like he raked some arm before ball contact.   But, whateva.  I'm taking the "W" and am saving my bitchin' at the refs for another game.   Seriously...I almost asploded when Craft's 3-pointer at the end of the shot clock wasn't waived off.

EDIT:  Derp.  Responded to the wrong post.

A win vs a top 10 opponent, in a home game sandwiched around 3 road games to MSU, IU and Wisc. BIG must have win. This is such a  good team. We might be #1 again on Monday- does OSU play IU this weekend?

Beating Ohio, I feel great about that. Our defense though continues to struggle. We cannot keep any dribbler in front of us whatsoever, we are constantly getting beat off the dribble and our rotations are slow and lazy. Hopefully this, along with our rebounding improves once Morgan returns. Offensively, about as frustrating because it involves a lot of dribbling, some screens on the ball, and 4 guys standing around, 3 of them behind the arc. Very frustrating to watch, we look like the team from 3-4 years ago offense at times. But you what? We beat the buckeyes, so dammit, I'll go to bed happy! Go Blue!
