I think it's all mental with McGary. He's just been a little slower to adjust to the college game and is starting to realize that busting ass is just as effective here and allows him to dominate just like in high school.

ugh

OK, good and entertaining half, but DAMN IT, we had so much momentum early and just lost it. We allow too many runs, 8-0 here, 7-0 there. So frustrating.

Terrible first half, we're lucky it's a one possession game. JB's halftime adjustments should help us pull away, but the last ten minutes of that half we just got outworked.

We're definitely a second half team this year so I'm feeling confident, but that was a brutal first half. Trey needs to calm down and do what he does every game.

Who would have thought that Mitch would be keeping us in this game so far?!

We should be up 10, but we're down by 1 because we can't run a fucking offense.

Even if we play like we did during the IU game we're up comfortably. It's so frustrating because if we execute we're an VERY good team. Even if we don't make 50% of our shots like we're capable of...just GET the good look. We can't even GET good shots right now.

Right now, our team often has a bunch of guys standing around which results in one or two passes and then a contested shot.

OSU had some really nice possessions where guys were moving around and they passed the ball severla times resulting in an open shot.

How in the hell does a road team only get called for 1 foul in a half?  Especially one that is known for hand checking.  They better be in the penalty by the 10 minute mark of the second. Beilein needs to have a word with the officials.

But we also have to be aggressive vs. OSU.

I used that word 100 times in the in-game thread vs. Ohio in game 1 and we finally started to get aggressive and we came back.

Then if you remember, we came up and relaxed and started jacking 3's....took and missed 7 in the last 5 minutes if I recall correctly.

In this game, we're only in it because we've made shots that we missed in game 1 and we're playing better on the defensive end.

This game is all about execution. I just want to see us run something...I don't even care if the ball goes in. Just get a good shot. For once, can we get a back cut to the basket? Can we get some passes around the perimeter?  Can we get some movement?

Our offense lately from a execution standpoint has been terrible. Do we even have an offense? It seems like we only run plays.

We need to get into an offense and run plays off that offense, get some guys cutting and moving the ball...wear out this team on the defensive end and make them work.

EXECUTION! EXECUTION! EXECUTION!

Out-shot, out-muscled, out-hustled. These guys better get their heads in the game and their asses in gear, or they can kiss any chance for a Big Ten title goodbye as of tonight.

I think they need to really show the rest of the team McGary's efforts and tell them to duplicate that, too many OSU extra effort plays beating guys to the ball, and waaaaay too much Burke trying to press the 1 on 1 issue with Craft again.  Belien needs to get him under control.

The whole team needs to really, really, really work on boxing out as well.

That half was very disappointing.  First of all, Vitale is beyond awful.  Second, GR3 is doing absolutely nothing of use.  Frustrating to watch.  Hopefully, the second half is a lot better because the first half stunk.

Halftime offensive summary:

Michigan -

FG% - 44.4% (12-27)

3PT% - 45.5% (5-11)

FT% - 50.0% (1-2)

Ohio State -

FG% - 50.0% (13-26)

3PT% -42.9% (3-7)

FT% - 50.0% (2-4)

Rebounds and fouls are comparable, but Ohio State actually has more turnovers. It wasn't going to be easy, and a one-point deficit is something you can definitely erase quickly. Go Blue!

Michigan has much more talent than they have had in past years but the offense in the half court is not close to past years. Michigan has got to get better at this if they want to go far in March. For every good set run with a quality shot there are three or four possessions with a three point heave or Burke going one on one.

Maybe Beilein is saving legs but I thought he went to Morgan, Levert and Albreit way too long. Along Ohio to get on a 7-0 run. Frustrating just watching Robinson hang out in the corner and not doing much....again

Defensive rotation is slow, defensively we struggle. Quality teams get open looks to easily. We fall asleep on defense and can't keep the dribbler in front. Offensively it looks the same too...lots of dribbling, an attempt at a pick while everyone else stands and watches from the 3 pt. line....frustrating!!!!!
