this is the second  high pick of a wr, the other being fat mike williams, who deliberately sandbagged, to get out of detroit.....  i guess they prefer the warmth.. but the funny thing is, those who stay end up loving living in michigan.

I mean, come on.....it's not like the Lions had ever wasted high draft picks on bad character WRs bef - errrrr....I mean it's not like there were any red flags around Titus Young when he was at Boise Sta - ummmmmm......that is to say, it's not as if the Lions were really short on true positions of need like DB at the time Young was draf - errrrrr......hmmmmmm.....

You know on second thought, I'm pretty sure the Lions fucked it up again.

his number and color were called, time to go fill a urine jar.

remind us to ask in about 5 years if he's delivering pizza somewhere.  that will not end well.  the world is full of talented losers.   character matters more than anything, and he is grossly deficient.

re: a wasted pick.  He should have been able to split the field and open things up for their passing game (for the Lions), but his attitude is something we do not need more of.   Glad they got rid of him.

Hope they grab up a CB, a CB, a S, an OL, an OL and repeat, this offseason.

my own words, and it appears I did not explain myself fully, but I disagree. It was not a bad pick in the sense that it was a bad idea/move to take him.  He did not pan out, which is a failure on the Lions' part, but I do not see how taking him on draft day was a bad idea.

He had the potential to stretch the field for Calvin and the entire offense.  Spreading out the defense is always a good thing.

hopefully the first of many cuts,,,doubt it but hopeful, considering were over 4 million over the cap.

now they need to cut Raiola  ( 6 mill) , KVB ( 10 mill this season due to restructuring - 5 mil cap hit ), Peterman ( 2.64 mill ), and Backus ( 7.8 Mill )

and not resign any free agents off their roster other than Durham, Bell, Muhlbach and Houston.

Nobody else worth the money

Take your beatdowns this year, and end this cap hell so were set to do some free agency damage in 2014.. I would try to move up all of the bonus money on stafford also to 2013. Take your beatdowns in 2013, to have a ton of cap room in 2014 and so on.

this team will be lucky to go 4-12 in 2013..

let me say this also,Mayhew ( what have you done besides no brainers like Mega, Stafford and Suh ---Nothing ) , Schwartz ( no composure ), Linehan ( how about a fullback or an H Back  and horrible play caller ) and Cunningham ( the wide 9 especially ) all need to go.

It is about time they finally established an internal scouting department ( thus why Brian Xanders was brought in ). No wonder our scouting has sucked the last 20 so on years.

On a postive, they are putting new turf at Ford Field, probably to embrace all the times Raiola will be flat on his back in 2013...

This is definitely good news that was a long time coming, but I still can't help but think that the long delay still sends a less-than-ideal message about the Lions and discipline, even if they finally doled some out in Young's case. However, as rosters were unfrozen today, this was the next possible day per NFL rules, I believe.

It seems like this leaves the Lions back where they were when it comes to WRs about two years ago basically, in need of someone who get yards when everyone is distracted by Calvin. I would be interested to know if they don't fill this position via free agency rather than the draft. I would think it is fair, from a business standpoint, to put this one on Lions' management for the mishandling of resources (e.g., draft picks and money).
