I know Eddie George often accompanies Urban and recruits to dinners in Columbus.

I think it would be great to use a celebrity alum like Desmond Howard, Jalen Rose or eventually Woodson or Brady.  Im sure it could make a big impact on recruiting.

Can somebody clear up what the rules are in regard to using former athletes/celebrities to sway uncommitted prospects?

In The Journey a few weeks ago, Victor Oladipo recalls a time when he was being recruited and went to a dinner at the white house for school and was magically seated with Dwayne Wade (coached be Crean at Marquette) and Antwaan Randle-El at a dinner and somehow ended up going to IU. If the ethos of regulations on recruiting is to make the playing field level, this certainly seems to violate that...

Remember usc had to quit having dinner at Papadikis's restraunt as they always happened to have former players show up and then the second thing they got in trouble for was having a commitment ceremony....

Osu got in trouble for having Chris Carter bump into recruits at osu games ....

This happens all the time though...........
