Too bad half of the tv viewers didn't get to see it. Damn you Wendi Nix!
September 5th, 2009 at 9:31 PM ^
I was screaming at the television and Wendy Nix! At least I saw the re-run, but I missed that whole first drive.
September 6th, 2009 at 3:08 AM ^
I was yelling at Wendi Nix too. She is hot though so I can't be so mad at her. BTW, she has gotten better looking over the years.

You'd think they'd do a better job of getting us to the game instead of trying to impress us with their "seamless" coverage... bastards.
I'm hard-pressed, but I think D-Rob's TD run was my favorite play... future greatness between Forcier and Robinson!
Great day!

Agreed. To me that first touchdown was the essence of Tate and hopefully his future.
Scrambling ability to evade the defense, poise and awareness to look downfield, and beautiful touch on the pass. Not to mention the improvise abilities. Really was a beautiful play.

not running up the score. That was my favorite play.
I am convinced that the guy cares about all of his players and is classy in not running up the score.
With all of the crap this past week, game ball to Coach Rodriguez for the way he handled it all.
September 5th, 2009 at 8:41 PM ^
how did he NOT run up the score? just because coner didnt complete the pass...
but i was happy to see coner in there. they played four qbs today, so RR was wrong about only playing 3
September 5th, 2009 at 8:50 PM ^
as well as the play selection. You didn't notice that the play calling was a little less "dynamic" in the 2nd half? We scored how many points in the 2nd half?
Yeah, maybe WMU's defense played a little better in the 2nd half, and maybe UM played a little worse, but UM scored 31 in the 1st half and 0 in the 2nd. Yeah, I think RR held back [but granted this could be to show as little as possible to ND].
September 5th, 2009 at 8:52 PM ^
The announcers said it looked like there was a miscommunication and the back wasn't there for the handoff, so Cone had to improvise. Didn't look at it again, but I can't see Rod trying to run it up with a Coner pass.
September 5th, 2009 at 8:54 PM ^
the others were all called runs. The other pass (with the offensive PI call) was a run that the RB missed his assignment (I think).

.....Shoelace going the distance. Good god he's fast!!!

Just posted on Twitter @michigan_fball
Denard Robinson's amazing 43-yard touchdown run is the play of the day! http://bit.ly/vlP4k

made #9 on Sportcenter's top 10 list
September 5th, 2009 at 8:38 PM ^
Completely agree, with that first TD I could just feel the entire fan base release most of their anxiety.
September 5th, 2009 at 8:39 PM ^
Yeah Tate is a special player. Field smart really goes a long way. My favorite play was watching Shoelace on that busted play. That guy equals gone when out in the open.
September 5th, 2009 at 8:43 PM ^
Beautiful throw by Forcier and a great preview of whats to come from the true freshman!
September 5th, 2009 at 8:43 PM ^
Tate's deep ball to Hemingway late in the 1st half, just because it was the final dagger in an orgasmic opening 30 minutes and pretty much guaranteed an emphatic UM victory.
Not to mention ... the pass itself was gorgeous.
September 5th, 2009 at 11:27 PM ^
I just said to my bud " I hope they go deep to Junior".
Sweetness.
September 5th, 2009 at 8:45 PM ^
Denard and what should now be dubbed The Shoelace Sprint. I cackled with glee for 10 minutes at the possibilities.
September 5th, 2009 at 8:52 PM ^
Man, so many to choose from today, which feels so good!!!
It's a tie for me:
- Tate's first TD pass
- The Denard run
- Koger's 1 handed catch
Bonus:
- Even though it got called back, seeing Sheridan run 20 yeards for an almost TD.
September 5th, 2009 at 9:55 PM ^
the first half was chock full of nice plays, it was all good!
September 5th, 2009 at 8:56 PM ^
Forcier had just lobbed another deep attempt, overthrowing a very tightly covered receiver. I remarked to my friend that they need to take their shots downfield whether they complete them or not . . . but I added that I hope they complete at least ONE deep ball today. Just to prove that they can do it.
Two plays later, lo and behold, Junior Hemingway beats his man down the field, and Tate Forcier tosses him a PERFECT pass, hitting him in stride, and Hemingway stomps into the end zone.
That felt good. OH YEAH.
September 5th, 2009 at 8:58 PM ^
Because of the situation, I would have to say the first TD for the reasons listed above, but if this were the second game of the season, the deep pass to Hemmingway or Koger's 1-handed catch because of the pure talent that they displayed.
September 5th, 2009 at 9:14 PM ^
Every successfully caught punt.
September 5th, 2009 at 9:19 PM ^
Yeah, gotta give ya that one. And wonder of wonders . . . that was all of them!
September 5th, 2009 at 9:28 PM ^
1. Tate to Hemingway part 1.
2. Denard.
3. Tate to Hemingway part 2.
4. Koger's catch.
5. Coner getting in there.
September 5th, 2009 at 10:17 PM ^
4. Craig Roh's 1/2 sack
September 5th, 2009 at 9:37 PM ^
the 1st td pass.
September 5th, 2009 at 11:29 PM ^
The Forcier deep ball to Hemingway. Kid has an arm.
September 5th, 2009 at 11:48 PM ^
Carlos Brown had a fantastic cut block in pass protection deep in our own territory (on a deep ball to Koger which fell incomplete).
September 5th, 2009 at 11:55 PM ^
That was an outstanding block. He made the guy do a cartwheel in midair. Truly an aboverage effort by CB23.
September 5th, 2009 at 11:55 PM ^
Denard's run was amazing. It looked so effortless. To me it looked like he was jogging and everyone else was sprinting and still no one had a chance to catch him.
September 6th, 2009 at 12:14 AM ^
Mine was Coner's sick overthrow on fourth
September 6th, 2009 at 12:37 AM ^
But I was glad to see Sheridan throw that pick, just to remind the coaches that just because he has game experience does not mean he is not an interception machine. Hopefully he'll stay on the bench unless there's more garbage time.
Hard to pick one real favorite play, but Warren sticking the receiver and forcing an incompletion in the first quarter was nice - remember when the knock on him was he avoided contact?
Oh, and Denard. That's the kind of run that always happened TO Michigan. I lost my shit for that one.
