wow... he may be the most athletic TE weve had here since Tony McGee... even more so than Butler who was just fast
September 6th, 2009 at 10:22 AM ^
Butler's leaping catch last year was pretty damn awesome. Koger is extremely athletic, but to say Butler was "just fast" is probably a bit inaccurate.

Also, Beilein considered bringing him over to help with basketball, didn't he? Didn't happen, but indicates he must have been at least pretty good in high school.

Super Mario (#86) who dressed and made that play!
September 5th, 2009 at 8:44 PM ^
From where I was sitting during the game I thought he dropped it, and then my friend screamed and said he caught it. Koger is the Antonio Gates of the big ten. This season is gonna be awesome.

nuff said!

They stopped the play on the big screen in the stadium at the point it hit him in the hand and slow-mo'ed it as he brought it down. UNREAL!!!! He appears to be the real deal. There was an old timer sitting next to me who said "I thought that Manningham left already". I think he meant it.

Did you throw a water bottle at him? Those dad-gum old timers...
September 5th, 2009 at 8:59 PM ^
i think i heard that old man yell something about his love for the single wing offense
September 5th, 2009 at 8:54 PM ^
What a great weapon. With Hemmingway and Matthews stretching the field, Koger should have lots of looks in the middle of the field. Love it.

If that’s not a top 10 play, then they must have missed the game. Tremendous catch for a tight end.

Duh nuh nuh, duh nuh nuh!

Was Dick's Nike gloves in ACTION lol what a grab
September 5th, 2009 at 9:40 PM ^
I guess Adidas can make sticky gloves too. Andre Johnson has got nothing on him... no studio effects, but same result.

it's up on mgoblue in the highlight video now. around 2:40.
i gotta watch sportscenter to see how denard's first play and koger's catch fair in the top 10
September 5th, 2009 at 9:23 PM ^
Does this make Koger manbearfreak the second?
September 5th, 2009 at 9:29 PM ^
Total circus catch and I loved it. Harkened of Curtis Granderson.

What a snag. Kid is going to be good, I wonder why RR put in more TE packages.
September 5th, 2009 at 9:34 PM ^
I am very happy that RR is utilizing our talented tight ends. RR never had that luxury at WVU and I believe he must be like a kid in a candy store watching Koger catch balls like that!
September 5th, 2009 at 9:42 PM ^
of a tight end offense. From the down field blocking, the ability to catch a pass in the middle, to THIS one handed grab? Outstanding. I hope we see some more stellar TE play this season.
September 5th, 2009 at 9:45 PM ^
I was in section 13 and I swear it looked like Tate threw that ball high on purpose to avoid a linebacker, was that just me?
September 5th, 2009 at 11:02 PM ^
holy cow ... thanks for the linkage.
September 6th, 2009 at 12:11 AM ^
That was a nice play. Koger one on one with a safety or corner would not even be fair. I hope we can get some mismatches in the future.

nevermind got it. Going up on YouTube in a bit.
