Tangential relation to college football?

Former LSU fullback Shawn Jordan, member of their 2007 BCS National Championship team will be fighting Mike Russow in a heavyweight bout.

-----------------

Anything University of Michigan related?

Not this card. However, plenty of former Big Ten wrestlers and Big Ten wrestling champions have made (or are presently making) their mark on the UFC.

Most notably being Brock Lesnar (Minnesota-retired), Mark Coleman (Ohio State-retired), Kevin Randleman (Ohio State-retired) Rashad Evans (MSU), Gray Maynard (MSU), Phil Davis (Penn State), Matt Mitrione (Purdue-football), etc...

So the Big Ten is well represented at the top levels of the sport.

Also, there was that one time former UFC light heavyweight champion and Ultimate Fighter winner, Forrest Griffin, attended a Michigan practice...

So enjoy that.

Rampage hasn't looked like "Rampage" since the Wand fight at the tail end of 2008, IMO.

He says he is in the "best shape of his life," but fighters always say that. Then again, he might want to up his stock as much as possible for all of the potential suitors out there, and beating a top prospect like Glover will certainly do that.

I'll be interested to see where Rampage's career goes from here. Is this all a smoke and mirrors game with the UFC? Will he go to Bellator to face some legitimate, albeit inferior, competition? Or will he end his career fighting cans in Japan?

With the dissolution of Strikeforce, there really aren't many top level LHWs outside of the UFC anymore.

The Pay Per View model is limiting in terms of their exposure and long term viability of their business in terms of expansion. On the other hand, regular network exposure (which they are starting to implement since their deal with FOX) enables longer term discussions with networks regarding rights fees for programming sold which could ultimately drawf Pay Per View revenues.

Bob Arum, Don King and Golden Boy have never really figured this out with boxing and we see the net results of that today (a few big PPV cards and periodic content on HBO or Showtime). Few could name any of the current boxing champions...beyond Mayweather or Klitschko.

If Dana White and the Fertitta's are smart they will increase their partnership with network TV and establish their version of the "fight game". Well below even NHL rights money would dwarf their current revenue streams.

Rampage claims to be in the best shape of his life but I don't seem him getting past Glover.

Cowboy/Pettis has the makings to be FOTY

Johnson/Dodson will go all 5 rounds

I like watching the UFC even more when it's free.  I'll be DVR'ing this.  It seems like the cards that UFC is putting on Fox are getting better.  Let's hope the trend continues.

Isn't Dodson the little bastard from TUF that never shut up. I remember him handing most guys but always wanted to see someone drop him one time
