Interesting. Was it Ted Gill who was responsible for MSU's DL being pretty good the past few years, or was it the D coord?

Ligitimate question, I really don't know. This seems an odd move to me

Coach D: "Ted, come in here a minute".

Coach Gill: "Okay Mark, what is it?"

Coach D: "Ted, our failures of the past season...in recruiting, in losing most of the top talent in the state, in our offensive performance, in Coach Roushar's playcalling, in Tom Gholston's regression, in our not laying in the weeds...it's ALL YOUR FAULT!

I'm going to have to let you go. Leave your stuff by my Kirk Cousins statuette. KThanx.

To be fair, your second picture of Coach D was taken when he was temporarily changed into a vampire. Shortly after that was taken, he was turned back into a human by a wizard since he had not preyed on any humans, but had sustained himself on vermin who breed around the Hubbard Hall incinerator

I'm more disturbed by what, from my professional medical perspective, looks like a case of anemia in Mark Dantonio. He's as sallow as he can be. Can you imagine him tearing into a slab of ribs specially prepared by the mother of  a prize recruit from, say, Selma, or Foley Alabama? There would be far too much meat on that plate for any trust to develop! Plus he didn't even touch his okra or his collards!

No msu bashing but mark looks like a f*cking vampire or something. One mentioned Gollum (lol) but it's like a mix of Gollum, The Emperor from Star Wars (sorry, don't know actual name as I'm not a big fan) and a vampire. Just scary looking. As for the firing, they're going after a big Canadian DL and he fires a coach who has turned no name DL into real players and has Canadian experience. I just can't get over how bad he looks. Does he really have anemia aside from his heart issues? Again, not bashing msu. Real question.

I heard it was because he had a telephone interview with Central Michigan. He was overheard saying he would love to move up in life, and take a job with the number two program in the state.

The Extreme AND the Allouettes. Talk about a journeyman...

Dear Coach Dantonio,

The only reason you've been winning any games the last few years is your Defense. Letting ANYONE from your defensive staff go is as dumb as we would expect from you. Carry on.

MSU had one of the top 10 defense in the country and best in the B1G. If something isn't broke don't fix it. MSU will regret this move. Moreover, they were better off firing their OC after their horrible offensive production this year.

In fairness to Roushar that team is one year removed from a good two year offensive run. If the O does not improve this year or next I'm guessing the Dantonio/Roushar thing will be the classic case of coach loyalty. Similar to Mack Brown refusing to let Greg Davis go for years until it was too late. Can't blame him. Coaches preach loyalty every day to their players. Not surprising when they are overly loyal to their coaches.

D-line was the weak link of the defense this year, they just couldn't get pressure. Look at Gholston, 2 years on the line and he developed no technique at all. But that's not the main reason for the fire, imo. He's getting old and he hates recruiting. The prospects that he recruited in the past few years:

2013 - none

2012 - David Fennell (Family Connection)

2011 - Darien Harris, Matt Romando (Family/friend Connection, eventually transferred)

2010 - None

2009 - None
