Indiana upset: Wisconsin Wins!
12 min left, Badgers up 8. Serious Big ten championship implications in this game, also a win that could help push the badgers off the bubble and into the tourney.
EDIT: Wisconsin wins 64-59. Big upset. as a (Blue)Badger, I'm pretty happy about it.

Wisconsin's gotten their shit together. That's just another game on the schedule that is a possible loss. Big Ten is going to be brutal.

I mean, take a look at this... (AP Poll)
Top 10 Teams By Conference
Big 10 - 3
Big East - 2
ACC / Big 12 / Pac 12 / SEC / WCC - 1
Top 20 Teams By Conference
Big 10 - 5
Big East - 3
ACC / MWC / Big 12 / SEC - 2
A10 / MVC / Pac 12 / WCC - 1
Top 30 Teams By Conference
Big East - 7
Big 10 - 6 (Wisconsin at #31 in AP Poll)
MWC / Pac 12 / SEC - 3
ACC / A10 / Big 12 - 2
MVC / WCC - 1
The Big 10 has more teams in the Top 11 (with Ohio State at #11) as every conference but the Big East has in the Top 30. That's crazy good.

I feel bad for Wiscy- they have gone to three straight rose bowls in football- and have been an elite team in Big Ten basketball for quite some time but always seem to get passed over with recognition. Everyone was so quick to jump on UM, UI, OSU, and even Minny having great years- but Wisconsin did not get any love. Granted there were reasons to suspect a drop from them this year...
Just goes to show all conference games can be tough... Biggest thing to me is that this was at Indiana... I think everyone is going to get roughed up in conference this year and like last year it will be down to the wire for regular season champ- with a very possible co-champ situation again.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:35 PM ^
They've taken the crowd and refs out of it. Exposing Indiana for what they are when Zeller is the only one scoring.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:35 PM ^
Every year people swear Wisconsin's NCAA streak will end and it never does. I think Bo Ryan's never finished lower than fourth place.
January 16th, 2013 at 9:59 AM ^
Also they have won 11 straight vs Indiana- not sure which streak is more impressive... I guess most people were too high on Illinois and way too low on Wisconsin- in a little over a week those two have essentially swapped places.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:36 PM ^
Great coach. Plus he hates Izzo
January 15th, 2013 at 10:42 PM ^
He's also the best coach for Wisconsin because the man looks like a badger. For realz
January 15th, 2013 at 10:38 PM ^
I hate that Wisconsin finds ways to win with the way they play. They set basketball back 30 years every game
January 15th, 2013 at 10:41 PM ^
Is just for football? In Wisconsin, manball is the motto for every sport. Doesn't work real well for swimming, though.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:44 PM ^
probably works great for women's gymnastics though!
January 15th, 2013 at 11:28 PM ^
Hey, I had a ex-gf whograduated fron Pioneer and went to UW and won two NCAA national events as a swimmer. She was and is a beast (now with a couple kids). Not a UM, Stanford or Auburn swim team, but they do not suck either.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:37 PM ^
When you say beast... Is that a compliment or insult?
January 16th, 2013 at 7:47 AM ^
"Nice singlet... Does that come in hetero?"
Man Scrubs was a great show!
January 15th, 2013 at 10:45 PM ^
I guess we all have a philosophy. But if you think that playing great defense, rebounding and valuing each possession sets the game back 30 years, I miss the good old days.
Bo Ryan gets the most out of kids.
And so does Coach B. .
January 15th, 2013 at 11:05 PM ^
I just mean it's an older philosophy. You don't see it that much anymore in talented teams. The game now values transition and fast break offense and more athletic and flashy offense
January 15th, 2013 at 11:07 PM ^
Actually I'd say basketball, both at the college and NBA level, is played at a much slower pace overall than it was 20-30 years ago. In the 1980s, a typical NBA game would have a score of 115-110, and it was not uncommon for college teams to score 90-100 points. The pace is a lot slower across the board now.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:15 PM ^
Sorry if what I'm about to say is completely wrong or makes no sense,
but I feel like better athletes on both sides of the ball make it harder to hit shots regardless of pace. I think that the increased pure athleticism raises average defense.
Basically, better athletes = higher average/baseline defense = lower scores, not necessarily slower pace
January 15th, 2013 at 11:11 PM ^
But the Badgers are not flashy or athletic, so they better do something.
I respect everyone's thoughts on styles of play.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:39 PM ^
They will have to stay hot to finish it.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:43 PM ^
Indiana looks human... Thought they got way too much love in the pre-season.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:45 PM ^
This thread smells jinx-ey
January 15th, 2013 at 10:45 PM ^
I don't want my Gods rooting for the wrong guy, since they have been so awesome! :)
January 15th, 2013 at 10:46 PM ^
I may be biased.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:50 PM ^
Why do people post these damn threads? Without fail, 5 minutes after it gets posted, it's moot.

You're welcome.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:14 PM ^
Hahaha. Did you put on an IU shirt too?
January 15th, 2013 at 11:09 PM ^
Its it?
January 15th, 2013 at 10:49 PM ^
Hoosiers schedule is extremely back loaded. They won't play a road game against a top 5 team until Feb.7
January 15th, 2013 at 10:50 PM ^
That home officiating bias seems particularly relevent right now.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:50 PM ^
Good grief. When I dialed in Wisky was up 10. I look down, look up and now Indy is only down 3.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:55 PM ^
Wow big shots from Bucky, I don't think Oladipo could have played that any better.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:55 PM ^
Badgers making some difficult shots to build the lead back up to 5. If this was in Madison, okay, I get it, but at Indiana? I thought they never lost there according to every ESPN announcer this season.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:55 PM ^
Notre Dame got hoodwinked by St. John's too.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:58 PM ^
Indiana will have to foul soon. Especially with the Wisky pace.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:00 PM ^
This is a really weird result. Is Indiana really not as good as everybody thinks they are? Wisconsin pace mucking things up?
January 15th, 2013 at 11:02 PM ^
The Big 10 is just murder.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:07 PM ^
They have beaten them 10 games in a row. Soon to be 11.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:01 PM ^
IU can't hit water if they feel out of a boat and the refs are making this game unwatchable and I'm an IU fan.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:02 PM ^
Hulls is also team cancer and completely destroying any offensive flow
January 15th, 2013 at 11:13 PM ^
He's terrible for that team. He'd be good on Butler, not IU. They should start Shehee over Hulls, with Yogi, Oladipo, Watford, and Zeller. Hulls should be nothing more but a backup PG for that team. It'd be like us starting Vogrich over Stauskas.
January 16th, 2013 at 1:11 AM ^
Problem is sheehey has been terrible recently as well. I don't like hulls and I don't think he's a BIG caliber PG but he's not a huge issue if he doesn't control the ball. He's a great shooter but recently he seems to have gotten an ego and tries to do everything alone. It's so frustrating. He needs to just sit out for 3 when he in.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:02 PM ^
Where does Wisconsin get all these 6'8"+ guys that can play D and hit 3's ... can we haz some.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:03 PM ^
Cheese curds.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:21 PM ^
What do you think? The Old Fashioned? Best in Madison?
January 16th, 2013 at 8:17 AM ^
Old Fashioned curds are tremendous.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:04 PM ^
I like that Indiana's classic home jersey hasn't been tarnished ... if you look at Wisconsin, i think you'll see what i mean. I think we have that weird white collar thing too.
January 15th, 2013 at 11:12 PM ^
The best thing about Indiana is that they still have the candy-striped warmup pants from the '70s (or whenever).
