Jay-nard is no longer visiting. No visits set in stone yet from the others.

Larue reaffirmed his visit to A&M but no word on a UM visit yet. Also, no word on anything outside of the all star game comments with Foster. Not giving away any info but I have an ESPN Insider/Rivals account and with twitter/MGOBoard and Ace everything high profile you will see on the biweekly roundup or board.

In other words, you'll know about it.

I can confirm that is indeed fast.

Doesn't A & M have 35 commits?
January 8th, 2013 at 11:40 PM ^
how little time it took them to get accustomed to SEC recruiting
January 9th, 2013 at 9:26 AM ^
Yeah, but I heard or read somewhere that 6-9 of those guys would be enrolling early so it dwindles down the actual commitment number. Please correct me if I am wrong.

You can only back date a certain number of recruits to the previous class. I think the number is 3 but don't quote me on that. So that still leaves a lot of "attrition" that needs to happen before the next season.
EDIT: Dammit, it's only a Big Ten rule to only allow 3 backdates

Am I the only person on here who hopes Foster finds relative success somewhere besides Michigan?

Visit or no visit, I bet he'll end up at Alabama.

Improving that D if they ever want to win a National Championship. Oh, wait...

I know football and basketball recruits aren't represenetive of the university as a whole for better or for worse, but this is MIchigan, one of the elite education venues in the world. The guy has a four year old kid at only 18 years of age. He would probably be three years and out to the NFL. Sure I can support the guy for trying to do good by his family with an NFL salary, but the guy would otherwise likely have no business near a majority of college campuses without his great athletic ability. Yeah the guy made some past mistakes and has been living and learning from them hopefully. Call me elitist I guess, but I love the stories of the Kovacs and Zoltans of Michigan (I know their situations weren't even close, but just commenting on Kovacs obivous walk on to Captain/star status and what Zoltan was able to do during the NFL strike with his education, upbringing, his charity etc.)

Lots of Michigan students likely have no business near a majority of college campuses without some unusual feature they happen to have (in some cases, for example, the hiring of ACT tutors by their families). Student-athletes, like student violinists and National AP Scholars, managed to hone a skill the university community values through dedication and perseverance. The only academic question is whether they have the ability to learn the requisite amount of material to complete a degree, which the admissions procedure is supposed to ensure, pace your preference for accountant types.

Well said. You are exactly correct. FTR my friend and fmr Michigan stud Steve King had a child before he came to M to play D for Mattison '92-'96. Besides being an excellent football player Steve is a great guy who later worked in the AD for M and NU and has helped a lot of athletes at those schools, including yours truly, get through some challenging schoolwork and get a degree. He now runs the BeyondSports Foundation to give underprivileged kids a better chance at maximizing their own unique abilities to make it to good schools. So yeah, we like those guys.
