Game at Noon eastern/ 11 Central.  Some Iowa fans smell an upset.  I think they will be upset after we win.  Go Blue!

this has been quite the entertaining game and an indicator of who the best team in the B1G is, and probably the nation.

This is a team that almost beat Indiana that we are taking to the woodshed, good times

Bleachers are too small and students are bad fans.

The number of times I've face palmed because I'm near someone shouting random things or making comments that show they know nothing about basketball is too high to count

Admittedly I was overgeneralizing. There are good fans, just not enough of them. Hopefully the #2 team in the nation sparks some interest.

But those weren't all students in the section, they just gave out yellow shirts to the bleachers. I bought my ticket at the last possible moment and I was row 5 in the middle section, the one they filled first. Still a better turnout than the CMU/EMU games, but they really need to re-evaluate how they do student tickets for break games, because MSU this year is going to be the same way.

Are you talking about today's game? Are you a student? I'm assuming not since you had to buy a ticket last minute.

You understand that it is still break, correct?

Have you ever tried to get into the bleachers for a decent match-up during Big Ten season that wasn't during a student break?

3/4 years ago I had to get to the Duke and MSU games 60-90+ min to get seats in the center section.  The couple years before that I would still have to get to games 30+ mins before tip.

It really doesn't seem like you know what you're talking about. Can you provide us with some info?

I'm a student. It was a dumb comment I over generalized a lot.

What I'm meaning to say is that with the current student section setup and this being the first year of a phenomenal team, it's going to take time for us to have a fearful student section for anything but the big games so far. But if we keep this up it looks promising.

EDIT: Time you need to show up to get into the bleachers is about the same this year, 30 minutes for non-important games, 60 minutes for the rest save for NC State, where you had to wait for about 30 minutes before the gate opened. And the reason I bought it at the last possible minute was because there was a deadline to purchase them before they got released to the public that I forgot about because it was approaching finals week.

Thanks for clarifying. I have noticed the bleachers have been reduced a bit - the front row of the center section is now a press row and the end sections are smaller.

That's unfortunate.

However, I was once in a meeting with some other Maize Ragers and some athletic admins and they said they really want to increase the student section/seating in the lower bowl. It's in the plans (or at least was 3-4 years ago). They won't do it, though, until there is continued high attendance for a significant period of time. Those seats are too valuable to sacrifice without solid assurance that attendance will stay high.

As for your comment on other students' comments - I know in my last year when attendance started rising I had to fight a little harder for center section seats. And when I didn't get there early enough, I noticed the crowd was beginning to become a little - let's say - mainstream. That's an unfortunate consequence of being good and popular.

Let's hope it never becomes a sorority chick drunk hangout like certain parts of the football student section.

And students have yet to fill the allotment of sections for any game so far and I don't think it will until OSU, and OSU and Indiana might be the only games that get students into more than 2 of the upper level sections. Same attendance issues as football. Hopefully by the end of the year the hype is still going and we can consistently fill at least most of the allotment, and then if we get another good year next year something might get going.

I'm just happy at least the bleachers are in the middle of the court, my dad was a student during the Glen Rice and Gary Grant days and tells me about how they were all the way in an upper corner. At least we're better than that.

Also a late Amaker survivor and had tickets during grad school for Beilein's first couple years.

Some people just don't understand how great the Maize Rage is because they only view it from afar and then compare to that other student section that is always on TV (and admittedly awesome). It was the most fun I had in college. Just happened to be small during some down years. It'll grow with success.

Meaning tickets to this game were not included in the student season ticket package. You had to buy student tickets to this game separately, and if not, they went on sale to alumni/public.

Unfortunately Michigan State will also be a "break" game. I got my ticket, but I know a fair amount of students forget to purchase the "break" games or don't know better. So while it will probably be a wild atmosphere, it won't be the best it can be too.

Iowa only has to get two every seven seconds now. I am pretty sure they have us right where they want us.

This is such an exciting game - Robinson with 20 points and the double-double, Hardaway and Burke with 19 each, Stauskas with 13 points to his credit. To think that the Sagarin numbers would have only had us favored by 11. This team defies prediction yet again - in an awesome way.

I dont like arrogant fans and im not one of them..but its hard to be humble right now on UM basketball..they have alot of work to do but they are on track to being one of the better NCAA basketball teams i have seen in my opinion..Team is playing amazing right now keep it up.

Make sure to leave out DB from the planning. For marketing and brand purposes, maybe 1 game will be at Crisler and Cameron each. The other 5 will be on an aircraft carrier, Superdome, Georgia Dome, China, and if it comes to a game 7... space bitches. The players shooting touches maybe a little off, but just imagine the ally-ops and dunks in low gravity. The ratings will be out of this world!

Thought GR3 would be here through his sophomore season.

He's been getting consistently better all season.  If he keeps playing like this he's a 1 and done lottery pick.
