I'm more than ok with the throwback M on shorts or with M and then ichigan.   I love those jerseys.

That said... Dave Brandin' has staffers check MGoBlog.  Every 10 complaints for uniformz adds a new instance of uniformz.  We are now at 1,113.  Let's keep it positive. k thanks!

Junior year.  The "we actually would have beaten Arkansas if Jalen could make a layup or the refs did not see Jimmy King simply being able to jump higher than Clint McDaniel as over the back" year.  That was the first Nike year.  Uniforms became a little heavier in terms of material, teh shorts went to more of a "pleated" look near the waste, swoosh on the left side. (I liked the Russel model better).

Really? We didn't sign the contract with Nike until 1994. So unless the conttract began on Jan 1st and we wore Nike uniforms right away during Big Ten play, we wouldn't have had them until the 94-95 season, meaning Jalen and Juwan were gone.

Color me suprised.  Notwithstanding this finding, I am absolutely certain that the uniforms went through some changes after their second year.  In addition to the changes noted above, their was no "slit" in the side of their shorts Junior year and the M was lower and a bit smaller.  Perhaps Nike just piggybacked on some changes Russel had already made and that is why my memory has betrayed me.

This is only the second or third year that apparel manufacturers have been allowed to put their logo on their jerseys for basketball.  (For football, for some reason, it's been allowed much longer.)  So no jersey you see from the '80s or '90s will have a swoosh or anything else on it.  That Rumeal Robinson jersey is a knock-off.  (Nike didn't even make those uniforms then.)

I'm pretty sure I saw an announcement from adidas that showed the alternate jerseys for a bunch of teams, ours will be similar to the NBA christmas jerseys, all maize with all writing outlined in blue.

Can Adidas copy the look of old Nike uniforms?  If they can't use the same color because it's trademarked or whatever, I would imagine there is some similar rule about replicating the design, unfortunately.

I really wish the piping on the blue uniforms matched the maize in the text. It's not even close...

And this is why I like our maize uniforms the best (with the maize and blue shoes and socks).

People lost their freakin' minds over the Fab 5 uniforms--the black socks and shoes, the long shorts. I was 20 years from having a formal affiliation with the University, but I loved that team, the look, the trash-talking and the swagger. Pure hip hop...bring tha noise!
