Looks like Derrick Green is being recruited by the coaching staff and several commits...

Shane Morris:

2013 class: “I’m still talking to Derrick Green a lot and I think we’ll get him. (points to Laquon Treadwell sitting next to him) I’m still working on him but I don’t know what his deal is. We would still take him. I know were still recruiting some lineman.”

Mike McCray:

2013 class: “I’m helping recruit Derrick Green a lot and I think and I feel like we have a great shot at him. I’m also talking to Reon Dawson, my teammate, and I just tell him everything I know about Michigan. It’s going to be close with him but we’ll see.”

David Dawson:

2013 class: “I talk to Derrick Green. He’s really the only one I talk to. I think Michigan has a real good chance.”

There's also comments about the bowl game and other topics as well.

Man, I'm really excited to see what kind of impact Poggi, Taco, and Hurst Jr. can have on our defensive line. I could definitely see them on the two deep, and besides Dymonte, they're the defensive guys I'm most excited about.

It's good to hear that these guys are recruiting Green hard. I'm sure those guys can make just as big an impact as the coaching staff.

Most the DL commits have been DT or SDE types but no pure pass rushers. Of the ones listed Taco is the only one that might fit the bill but he is listed as very raw so doubt he will do much in year 1. Hope I am proved wrong. UM needs a pash rush NEXT season though.

Or else we are going to be forced to use Mattison trickery in order to get pressure, leaving the DBs exposed. ND, OSU, and OSU have taken turns gashing us b/c of that in the last 2 years. UM needs the next B Graham or Woodley pretty bad.

Obs, speed also needed at WR and RB. Gallon is doing his best Wes Welker out there but he needs help.

Don't get me wrong I like the beef cakes Hoke is bringing in but I don't want to be Wisc Part 2.  That's what the recruiting at DL,  WR, and RB is looking like. Every commit has size but "needs speed".  Need t sprinkle in some explosive players.

my friend said the same thing. I really think he can be a Wes Welker type in the Pro's. He's really quick and great at setting up DBs with his route running. Importantly, he does not drop balls and snatches them.

Would love to see him blow up next year and make some noise in the pros thereafter. He's been our best non-Denard athlete for a couple years now.

the word on Rivals about Kugler is that he's dominated.  Tim Sullivan (YTTS) talks about that he's only been beaten in one on ones once or twice.  I wish he was enrolling early to get some strength to find rotation time next year.

Considering his dad is an FBS head coach, I have a feeling that Kugler will have lots of access to quality workout plans, nutrition, etc.  I'm not really worried about his physical condition too much, but any freshman offensive lineman is going to be a weak point.  Personally, I don't want to see him step on the field next year.  That would mean bad news.

Personally I think Kugler and Bosch "avoid" the redshirt this year to break up the recruiting class a little bit. Bosch will is coming in the spring and Kugler could be the #2 center. You'd think Burzynski may be the #2 center if he can snap the ball and doesn't earn a starting nod at guard...those both seem like pretty big IFs at this point. He's currently the 1st lineman off the bench.

It would require Bryant or one of the other redshirtting freshman to start at guard next year.

My sources are telling me a water boy talked to Green - "My Mama says that alligators are ornery because they got all them teeth and no toothbrush".

I'm not sure what it means for Michigan's chances with him.

I thought this was actually newsworthy from Poggi:

Position at Michigan: 'I’ll play the 5 technique and move down to the 3 technique in pass rush situations.'"

I thought everyone had him slotted at 3-tech for the most part.  And the roster would seem to dictate that as well, with all the SDE-types on there.
