Paywalled. Let the hand-wringing over "The Policy" recommence.
[Ed-Ace: This was debunked by Tremendous, Sam Webb, and TomVH. So... probably no need to worry, methinks.]

And there are no Michigan FB commits there.
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:38 PM ^
There's 4 commits at the Army game. Lewis, Thomas, Butt and Fox
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:39 PM ^
And zero of those commits are Fullbacks.

Gotcha. I read FB as football. Simple misunderstanding

This is most definitely not helping the post Outback Bowl disappointment.

Per the above link, Poggi is schedule to visit Alabama.
If true, this would be at least his 3rd visit to Alabama (first official), which, as I recall, was the other serious contender for his services, but he chose Michigan for "academics."

Fuck.
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:42 PM ^
Weird because I talked with him shortly after his official to Ann Arbor a couple weeks ago with the rest of the class. He said he had a blast and that it reaffirmed why he chose Michigan in the first place. I'll try to get in contact with him to see if it's legit.

Why? He is not Michigan's property.

So I imagine this is McCray, Kugler, or Poggi, correct?
Edit: Nevermind, posted before edit.

If it's true, it's a position where we have a lot of depth at but he is a good player.
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:46 PM ^
Damn, thought this one was over
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:47 PM ^
BULLSHIT
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:47 PM ^
Of course... He has been blowing up at the under armour practices.. so lets throw some fuel on the Hoke no visit policy.. Fuck
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:47 PM ^
Chizill people...lets get some confirmation before we have a full on meltdown
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:49 PM ^
Even if true, is there really reason to panic? As long as Poggi is upfront with Hoke, Dawson's recommitment pretty much ended any reason to "fear" the no-visits policy.
January 2nd, 2013 at 5:09 PM ^
There's never really a legitimate reason to 'panic'...but this definitely never bodes well when one of our best recruits wants to visit a school that goes to the national championship every year so late in the process.
January 2nd, 2013 at 5:17 PM ^
Well, of course it would be better if he wasn't going to visit.
But by no means is a visit tantamount to him being gone.

I think if there's one thing we can count on, it's this -- there's no better coach in America at the heart-to-heart talk with a player than Hoke.
Hoke is no dummy. He'll have that talk with Poggi to see what's going on in the kid's mind and heart. Hoke has shown a remarkable ability to understand and connect with his players at that level.
My guess is Hoke would rather have a player who commits to Michigan fully rather than harbors a regret for not having explored more fully. If Poggi has that lingering in his heart and he's honest with Hoke about it, my guess is Hoke tells Poggi to listen to his heart and do what he has to do. But here's the key -- there'd likely be no malice in Hoke's words, tone or message. That's why players respond to Hoke and are willing to go to such lengths for him

Darn it!!!

January 2nd, 2013 at 4:53 PM ^
Well.... Since Poggi projected to 3-Tech or 5-Tech, do we go looking for someone else if he chooses to go the 'Bama route, or do we bank the scholarship?
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:53 PM ^
That all the M commits at the UA game said that that's news to them.

In a world where "LOL" has been drained of meaning ... in my case, in response to your post ... LOL. That's freakin' awesome!!
January 2nd, 2013 at 5:21 PM ^
I just realized that that was insider forum info. Crap! Now I'm that guy. I'm old, these things confuse me.
January 2nd, 2013 at 4:58 PM ^
He's at the UA game with McCray, Morris, Dawson, Tully-Tillman, Kulger. Not the Army game.
January 2nd, 2013 at 5:00 PM ^
signing day cant get here soon enough
January 2nd, 2013 at 5:09 PM ^
What is this BS? Witfong is reporting from the Army game. Poggi is at the UA game. I don't have a 247 subscription but you better have one and can show a Witfong quote or you're going to Bolivia.

247's Alabama affiliate.
Steve also said 247 reporters on site are attempting to locate Poggi to confirm/deny.
January 2nd, 2013 at 6:14 PM ^
He reported it, without confirming it?

Join me, on a trip down bad memory lane:
It went ok from what I'm hearing. I don't think Alabama fits his personality as well as Michigan does. I've said this before, but I think Michigan has a clear lead on him. Poggi is a smart kid, his parents also want him to go to a highly rated academic institution. In terms of ratings and football tradition, Michigan would be hard to beat Michigan for Poggi. If he does sign with the Tide, then Saban clearly sold him on his pro potential. -Roll Damn Tide, 4/30/2012

All I can think is "Monorail... monorail.... monorail..." whenever I see a mention of RDT.

Well I guess we'd better have a damn good conductor.
