Brian Griese is doing color commentary. He's not bad.
This is an epic nickname matchup: Bears vs. Bruins. Winner gets to officially represent the Ursidae family for the next year.

Griese is good. His voice doesn't sound like his dad's, but the way he speaks sounds very similar. He's easy to listen to and doesn't fumble his words & sentences.

Although I used it to wash down some good meds. The bad part about this prescription is that I actually get tired. None of the other stuff I've ever gotten has done that, but I'm sitting here struggling to keep my eyes open (and it's not even the Holiday Bowl's fault).
December 27th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
Shit just got very real in my life (see my wall for details, I don't want to repeat it here) and the new meds calmed me down and let me sleep without any trouble at all.
December 27th, 2012 at 10:41 PM ^
But at least you're okay, right?

Tough lessons need to be learned from time to time.

he was pretty sure I had torn my ACL, which is obviously a longer-term recovery after some pretty invasive (for a knee) surgery; when I got the MRI results back yesterday it turns out I have a torn lateral meniscus and I'll be in and out of surgery in half an hour and my knee will be structurally capable of running the next day. Pretty much exactly the news I was hoping for.
December 28th, 2012 at 12:03 AM ^
Wish I could have gotten news like that. Tore my ACL and lateral meniscus last spring playing basketball. Had surgery in June. Just had my 6 month checkup last week, doc still says it is too weak for a return to sports. I guess ice fishing will have to be my wintertime activity. Best of luck with surgery.

That's too bad, man. Hope your recovery starts picking up, that's got to be tough.
December 27th, 2012 at 10:28 PM ^
Make that 14-0. Man, that offense is fun to watch.
December 27th, 2012 at 10:28 PM ^
TD Baylor. Offside call negates a clutch 3rd down stop and enables the second TD drive.
December 27th, 2012 at 10:29 PM ^
Watching Baylor pass against UCLA, I have to ask if Jim Mora has been itching to try out some of Jim Knowles' theories on man coverage, because it works so well for Duke, right?

It's a lot harder to incorporate this bowl name than the Belk. "He holiday'd up" doesn't have the same ring as "he belked up"
December 27th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
in today's bowls. So far today 2/3. CMON BEARS!!! Starting to look like picking Baylor was a good choice. I know its early.
December 27th, 2012 at 10:38 PM ^
Picking Baylor was a smart idea from the get-go! Just sayin'

His wife is an LA woman.
UPDATE: His team is an LA woman.

Baylor's D looks...dominant? Strange but true.
December 27th, 2012 at 10:52 PM ^
Florence throws a 0.10 down the sideline for a 55 yard TD. 21-0 Baylor.
I only have 3 Two-Hearted left. Should I pursuade my sister to drive me to the 24 hour Meijer down the road?

that the Big 12 was really good this year, that the defenses (except WVU) weren't as bad as they seemed, it's just that they were going up against devastating offenses.
K-State/Oregon will be the big test. But this has been pretty convincing so far.
December 27th, 2012 at 11:29 PM ^
while i don't think it will be a complete blowout, i think oregon will make quick work of k-state's defense. i think there are very few defenses in the country that have the ability to slow down oregon, much less stop them.
December 27th, 2012 at 11:42 PM ^
Yes, that's what pretty much everyone thinks.
Of course UCLA was favored in this game, too. So we'll see.
December 28th, 2012 at 12:06 AM ^
Oklahoma didn't look so hot against the Domers. Their offense looked lost at times, and their defense was atrocious.
December 28th, 2012 at 12:31 PM ^
No one's offense has very looked good against ND's defense this year.

Nuff said man lol
December 27th, 2012 at 11:15 PM ^
I guess you only need nine yards for a first down in San Diego.
December 27th, 2012 at 11:24 PM ^
UCLA is chasing shadows.
December 27th, 2012 at 11:28 PM ^
If I knew they would kick UCLA's ass this bad. This is a reaming.
December 27th, 2012 at 11:26 PM ^
A team that beat our Big Ten Champion.
December 27th, 2012 at 11:28 PM ^
They beat the runner up. Wisconsin put up 70 on the same team.
December 27th, 2012 at 11:33 PM ^
The champ lost to Oregon State.
That doesn't make me feel any better.
December 27th, 2012 at 11:31 PM ^
And that runnerup was pretty much gift wrapped 3 wins from the refs and faced a Denardless Michigan.
December 27th, 2012 at 11:27 PM ^
Looks like Baylor was a better place for Lache Seastrunk. The guy can flat out run. Should be interesting to see what type of numbers he puts up after saying he's gonna win the Heisman

If I were the program director here, I'd insist upon as many cheesy bear-related lines as possible from the announcing crew: "Just when the Bruins appeared roused from their hibernation, the Bears' pass rush pounced on Hundley like he was made of honey."
