Farcry 3, Assassins creed 3, & Skyrim. The uncharted's are amazing as well.
December 26th, 2012 at 2:07 PM ^
Agreed on FarCry3. The graphics are amazing!
Of course, I'll always recommend Battlefield 3. It blows BlackOps out of the water as far as online multiplayer goes. Plus, you'll have the great pleasure of playing with profigoblue (if you want)!

COD multiplayer is better. I have played COD for about four years and I really gave BF a shot. I was very open-minded about it and played online for about six months without touching COD. I really don't like the format. I will say this: the graphics for BF blow just about any game away (not just COD, I mean ANY game). That shit looks so real. I played and really like the campaign mode of BF, but I just don't like the multiplayer. After playing both Black Ops games, however, I prefer those over the Modern Warfare games online. It's strange though because I like the Infinity Ward (MW series) campaign modes more than those of Treyarch (BO series), but prefer the multiplayer of Treyarch over Infinity Ward.

you're never on (pc anyways...)
December 27th, 2012 at 10:28 AM ^
Unfortunately I play on PS3. I'd love to game on PC but I don't think I can justify the $1000 for a new system to the wife . . .
December 26th, 2012 at 3:47 PM ^
Can't blow through Skyrim in a few days, but as far as a story its hard to beat. Not to mention the hundreds of side quests that you can do. Skyrim is a game where you create your own story line. Highly Recommended
December 26th, 2012 at 3:51 PM ^
Do NOT get Skyrim for PS3. Great game, but horrible on PS3.
December 26th, 2012 at 3:58 PM ^
I own it for ps3 and i haven't experienced the freezing some have. The problem is lack of DLC content. I'm still waiting for dawnguard and hearthfire. If i hadnt already put in well over 150 hrs on my ps3 character i would bougt a 360 just for this game and the DLC.
December 27th, 2012 at 3:14 AM ^
I had it for the xbox 360 and it was awesome. my brother had it for the ps3 and it didn't even compare. Must have the 360 if your gonna get Skyrim
December 26th, 2012 at 1:22 PM ^
I heard The Walking Dead was really good. I tried to find it for my brother for Christmas, but it was sold out everwhere.
December 26th, 2012 at 1:26 PM ^
The Walking Dead is a great game, but you have to kind of want to play that style of game. If you think it is a quick twitch shooting game then you are probably going to be disappointed.
December 26th, 2012 at 1:42 PM ^
Do you know how long it takes to complete?
December 26th, 2012 at 3:09 PM ^
Depending on how long the puzzles take, each episode (5 total) will probably run you between 2-3 hours...that is, if it doesn't bork your save data like it did mine!
December 26th, 2012 at 4:44 PM ^
Class is correct.
The good thing is there are many different scenarios that can come about depending on what you choose throughout the game.
December 26th, 2012 at 1:27 PM ^
Get Black by EA games for. Great story and takes a while. o wait its 8 years old and on ps2 lolz but I still play it once in a while
December 26th, 2012 at 5:46 PM ^
True story. Black was AWESOME. I mean, it kinda sucks compared to any recent CoD, but for the time it was pretty sweet.
December 26th, 2012 at 1:28 PM ^
If you like sports games, I would recommend Madden 13. Great overall game
December 26th, 2012 at 1:31 PM ^
I'm terrible at Madden so I get frustrated when terrible players go God mode on me when I play on All-Madden.
December 26th, 2012 at 3:38 PM ^
The Madden series is so terrible. The only one I ever bought was 2005 on Gamecube and hated it. I sold it to an exchange company about three months after the fact. I have tried others since then, but that series sucks. The NCAA series is far and away better.
December 26th, 2012 at 1:29 PM ^
I cant recommend Dishonored enough. Best game I've played in a while.
December 26th, 2012 at 1:32 PM ^
Well, return Black Ops 2 and get any other game and you will probably be better off.
December 26th, 2012 at 2:42 PM ^
Do you not recommend it? I was planning on buying it tomorrow. I heard it got good reviews, and I really just interested in playing the online play on some boring days I have off with nothing to do. I'm not much of a gamer.
December 26th, 2012 at 3:40 PM ^
So many people buy certain games simply for the multiplayer and that really annoys me, especially when said games have great campaign modes. The campaigns modes of all COD games are so awesome and intense.
December 26th, 2012 at 4:06 PM ^
With COD campaign is it is like 4 hrs gameplay. It is great just too short. BlackOps2 is pretty solid. Maps kind of suck and you have to work to find a solid lobby because if the lagging. Maybe we should get an mgoblog clan
December 26th, 2012 at 5:27 PM ^
Ps3-sammy36532
Don't get to play much but would love to play some fellow mgoblog peeps
December 27th, 2012 at 11:00 AM ^
Well of course they are short. That is the issue with games where you are given specific missions to complete. War games like COD are not open-world games and you are not given the option to explore, such as in Assassin's Creed. That doesnt take away from the campaign mode though. It's just a different genre compared to open-world games.

FIFA 13
December 26th, 2012 at 1:34 PM ^
I recently purchased Borderlands 2 and it's quite fun for and FPS RPG, worth a shot for sure.
December 26th, 2012 at 2:30 PM ^
Borderlands 2 is amazing. Best combination of FPS and RPG I've ever played. Plus the graphics, engine, weapons, content, the zone music (Caustic Caverns is my fave), co-op play, and Handsome Jack?
People will love the Goliaths. "Time for squishing!"
December 26th, 2012 at 3:20 PM ^
I have to second this. Great game.
December 26th, 2012 at 5:42 PM ^
Is there any reason to play Borderlands before Borderlands 2? Something irks me about starting with a sequel, but if they're totally disconnected from each other story-wise and the second is better across the board then I can probably live with it.
December 26th, 2012 at 7:20 PM ^
I've never played the first one and I really enjoy the 2nd, I know that some of the quest givers are main characters from the last game but I truly don't know if it's a direct continuation of story if its a totally separate adventure, I'm inclined to assume the latter but I'm not sure. If that's your only hang up from buying it then so be it, but it's pretty awesome.
December 26th, 2012 at 7:24 PM ^
No reason other than it's probably cheaper and worth playing even with the sequel available.
December 27th, 2012 at 10:13 AM ^
Aside from the fact that Borderlands is a great game? It's worth playing regardless and can be had for cheap cheap.
I have to agree on Black as well. It's by far the best fps game I've ever played. They need to revamp it and re-release it on the PS3.
For current games Borderlands 1 or 2 are good although I haven't even gotten 2 yet. No time. Final fantasy 13 games are pretty good but take a while. MGS4 I agree is probably the greatest video game ever made. MGS3 is pretty damn good too and you can get the Metal Gear Solid collection that has it on PS3. So you get 3 games for the price of one! If you like racing Gran Turismo 5 can't be beat. All of the Assassins Creed games are good. I've only managed to play the first two so far but even those are good and can be had for cheap.

Skyrim and play it for a year straight

Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Need for Speed: The Run
If you're into linebackers jumping 22 feet in the air to intercept your over the middle pass, then you can pick up NCAA 13.
December 26th, 2012 at 1:42 PM ^
Was wondering about NCAA 13 because I played madden 13 and thought it was horrible. DBs always read the route better then the WRs
December 26th, 2012 at 3:42 PM ^
The first NFS game on the 360 is also called Most Wanted and up to the date the new Most Wanted came out, it was still the alpha male of the series. Those games got so bad since. I did, however, download the trial version of the new Most Wanted and was very impressed. It seems EA went back to driving style of the original Most Wanted, which is great because like I said, the original is excellent.

Black ops -shrugs shoulders- or call of duty world at war..
December 26th, 2012 at 3:05 PM ^
WAW is sooooo good. But they've stopped policing it and now it's pretty much hacked.
December 26th, 2012 at 3:44 PM ^
All of those asshole hackers (and most of them are young kids who have to hack because they can't win otherwise due to their sucking badly at games) have completely ruined that game. There is no need to police that game anymore since it's so old now.
December 26th, 2012 at 1:59 PM ^
Red dead redemption should be $20 just about everywhere
December 26th, 2012 at 2:16 PM ^
NBA 2K is great and I dont even like the NBA
December 26th, 2012 at 2:19 PM ^
Nba 2k and find the game play to suck. Can't dribble to the rim and though it is accurate I hate that it is the CPU dribbling for 24 seconds then hitting a chuck shot.
December 26th, 2012 at 2:25 PM ^
Ive been playing College Hoops 2k8. They updated the rosters and the graphics and gameplay is pretty damn good. Oh and I got it for $10.
December 26th, 2012 at 2:39 PM ^
Wait for it in 2013... should be a great game.
December 26th, 2012 at 3:00 PM ^
related to gaming:
looking to spend some christmas money on upgrading my laptop for gaming, either graphic card or sound card, or new harddrive. I can run dragon age origins on max graphic settings now. was wondering if this is worth spending money on.
December 26th, 2012 at 4:47 PM ^
If you want to upgrade your video card I would also upgrade the motherboard at the same time. It would be pointless if your motherboard can't support the upgraded graphics card.
December 26th, 2012 at 5:21 PM ^
If your graphics card is adequate, a solid-state hard drive is by far the best upgrade you can spend you money on. It will make everything about your computing experience faster and will be very noticable with day to day use. Good drives from Crucial, Samsung, and Intel are in the $150-170 range now for a 256GB model.
