Tuesday Night Drinking Thread Christmas Edition

Submitted by Cville Blue on
It's been an eventful day. All of the presents are open. We made some delicious pulled pork. I've bathed my daughter and my wife is putting her to bed So... What is everyone drinking? I'm enjoying Colonel E.H. Taylor Small Batch, neat. Great present from the wife.

we just killed a 13# standing rib roast, with Yorkshire pudding.  Dear God, it was gooood.

Apres diner, a couple of neat bourbons (Elijah Craig followed by a Maker's 46), and 20 minutes in the hot tub.  Worked up a nice sweat, now focused completely on my sister-in-law's world-class ass.

I swear to God I wanna stick my face straight in it.

Nice selection. I have a 4-pack of Devil Dancer I'm saving for the wife until after she has our first kid.

As for me, I'm going to tear into this Buffalo Trace the in-laws got me. Merry Christmas!

Christmas tradition says I will be enjoying a glass of Makers Mark. It was my dads favorite drink, he always had it in his Makers glass with one ice cube. It took me some time to aquire that taste but I always drink it that way in his memory.

Had a couple Fat Tires before, and after I finished the one I had with dinner I'll move on to my first ever bottle of scotch. My little sister got me a bottle of Ardmore Traditional Cask, which I'm told is a very good bang for the buck.

Keeping it sort of simple - rounding out Christmas with some Paulaner Salvatore Double Bock and some leftover Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen. We cooked some of a typical English Christmas meal - the traditional (for my family anyway) turkey with roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts as well parsnips.

I haven't had any of the other E.H. Taylor batches so I can't compare to the others. I'm a bourbon drinker, but I'm definitely not a bourbon expert. With that said, here is my brief review.

For a 100 proof bourbon it is pretty smooth. It is much sweeter than I expected. Strong taste of wood as well. Pretty tasty, but could be more balanced.

How was the tornado. That was a bourbon I wanted to try. Great story behind it.

I'm on my 2nd neat single malt Auchentoshan 16 year, Limited Edition

I started the evening and watched the OKC/Mia game with a few Bell's Hopslam Ale, starting to felt it now.

I got a bomber of three philosophers Belgium quadrupel dated 2011 from Brewery Ommegang, and Klüdde from Brewery Vivant for Christmas. Needless to say I am excited.

Today I had some 12 from Victory, and three philosophers dated 2012. Pretty fantastic Christmas!

Now I'm watching a horrible looking basketball game (seriously here are some uniforms to complain about).
