WDFN is back- and it includes Drew Sharp

Submitted by wolverine1987 on
The Freep (no link for obvious reasons) is reporting that WDFN will be re-instituting local personalities on their airwaves. No Stoney and Wojo however--the afternoon drive time slot will be filled by DREW SHARP and Matt Shepard. Mornings are Sean Baligian and Tom Kowalski. The also replaced Rome at noon is with Colin fucking Cowherd. They begin Tuesday.

But for my lunch and afternoon rush-hour drive I'd be scrambling for more NON-douche options. And didn't I hear somewhere that Stoney and Wojo had a non-compete contract and couldn't work another radio station? Why not just bring them back?

I don't live in Michigan anymore, but who in their right mind didn't prefer Stoney and Wojo over the crap platter Detroit sports radio has been serving up for the past few years? I really don't get it.

is a bit more tamed down when he is on the radio because he knows that he can be challenged by the listeners. plus with sheppard with him i'm pretty sure that the anti michigan rants won't get to out of hand.

I was also (very) surprised to notice that. I expected him to be a complete ogre, but on the radio he doesn't seem nearly as bad. His views can be warped, but as Rasheed Wallace might say: "dude's just a different cat." Doug Karsch would refer to him as "The Evil Drew Sharp" and it would bother him at all. Maybe he just wasn't wired to code.

I got a bit of a laugh when I read one of the reviews of Rosenberg's book on Amazon. One of the critics left his name as Drew Sharp, critiqued it to hell and back and rated it a 1 star. Haha.

Most sports radio is toxic. I used to be able to listen to Romey, but the whole tone of the show got to me after awhile. That said, I'd rather listen to Rome 24/7 than be have to put up with an hour of Colin Cowherd.

I hope they find there way back to the airwaves....grew up listening to those guys and they a solid following. Dont mind Matt Shepperd though & I hope they do well.....cant stand a majority of the national radio shows.

When does their non-compete expire? How far are they allowed to go? Could they work for WTKA, for example? They'll be back on the radio the day after they legally can be hired by a station, I sure... but then, I'm never thought Art Regner would end up unemployed.

to hear Beligian will be back. And while I would rather have Stoney and Wojo than Shep and Sharp, any alternative to Valenti is welcome. However, I am very disappointed to hear Rome is gone. I know not everyone will agree, but his brand of humor and tongue in cheek comments and "takes" on different topics was something I looked forward to each day. I don't know much about this Cowherd guy, but from what I have read here, it doesn't sound like I will be listening. I hope Rome is picked up on another station, but I don't see many options locally.
