Butler Stuns IU...Jinx Averted
With 1:46 left in the game, Butler is up 71 to 68 on IU. Butler has played unbelieveable in the second half, but Andrew Smith just fouled out after abusing Zeller all game.
EDIT#1. Game on CBS. IU down 2 with 1:14 left
EDIT#2. OT...
Butler wins 88 to 86 in OT
Brad Stevens is a hell of a coach!

Would love nothing more than to see iu lose and hear all the arrogant iu fans excuses.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:13 PM ^
If Indiana wins, I'm blaming you.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
EDIT...rain the pain... Choke by Butler
December 15th, 2012 at 4:39 PM ^
Ok then. We're good.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:40 PM ^
Thanks...it will never happen again!!!
December 15th, 2012 at 4:14 PM ^
Indiana had the momentum, and are hurting themselves now...2 bad fouls to great free throw shooters and that loss of focus by Ferell when he kicked that ball out of bounds...Butler 74 IU 69 with 35.5 seconds left
December 15th, 2012 at 4:15 PM ^
Crazy play by oladipo.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:17 PM ^
This has been an exciting game, Zeller has really been negated for long portions of the game. Go Bulldogs!
December 15th, 2012 at 4:18 PM ^
BOO THIS MAN
December 15th, 2012 at 4:18 PM ^
Terrible shot selection to end the game by Butler.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:18 PM ^
THIS IS YOUR FAULT!
December 15th, 2012 at 4:18 PM ^
Well son of a gun...OT it is
December 15th, 2012 at 4:19 PM ^

downvote
December 15th, 2012 at 4:18 PM ^
OT....I'd bet Indiana is going to win....Butlert doesn't have the horses..too bad.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:18 PM ^
Wow Yogi got his picnic basket there, with 2 of Butler's best players already out this might not be a fun 5 minutes for the dogs :/
December 15th, 2012 at 4:18 PM ^
Too Soon?
December 15th, 2012 at 4:18 PM ^
Think it's better for Mich for Indiana to win this game.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:23 PM ^
How do you figure that?
December 15th, 2012 at 4:38 PM ^
In basketball you definitely want the conference to be as strong as possible. Every non conference loss diminishes conference reputation while every non conference win enhanced it and makes conference wins more valuable.
You could say one loss doesn't matter but if it turns into a three loss non conference schedule then what was once a quality win turns into an ok win.
Most important thing is for Michigan to take care of business.

If we win tonight we'll be ranked #2...I'd say that their loss helped. Nothing IU does has any effect on us. We control what we're ranked.
December 15th, 2012 at 5:11 PM ^
But this obviously means a little more to the bubble teams(MSU, Wisconsin, etc)
December 15th, 2012 at 4:19 PM ^
Great play. I guess I don't really care who wins, Indiana winning is good for the B1G but it would be sweet to see us ranked #1 at some point. Just rooting for a good finish, which this is.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:19 PM ^
I hate you
December 15th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
With both of Butlers big guys fouled out it will be tough for them to win this
December 15th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
I'm at a butler bar in Indy. Probably 60/40 butler fans. Crazy atmosphere though
December 15th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
You can't play under the screen when they're looking for a three.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
Jinx! Rabble!
December 15th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
I don't really care who wins this game, to be honest. Being ranked #1 for a while isn't that big of a deal to me. What I am taking away from this game is that Brad Stevens practices the same form of witchcraft that Greg Mattison does. How is Butler still this good? And they already destroyed UNC this year. I love that he is staying at Butler and trying to turn this team into an annual power.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:26 PM ^
what i've heard is that he is waiting for the duke job to open up, everyone thinks he is waiting for indiana or duke and crean isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
That dumbass Butler player should be slapped for taking a shitty shot with 3 seconds left
December 15th, 2012 at 4:23 PM ^
You should be banned and this thread deleted. Turrible!!!
December 15th, 2012 at 4:23 PM ^
I think the biggest thing to take away from the game is that Zeller isn't the end-all be all greatest thing ever. He can be shut down. Granted, when we go into Assembly Hall, touching him will be a foul, but IU isn't as dominant as Kentucky was last year
December 15th, 2012 at 4:24 PM ^
apparently Butler doesn't need the Big men....another one bites the dust...
December 15th, 2012 at 4:29 PM ^
Taking a second look at yogi's three to force OT, Zeller was all over the guy on the pick. Offensive foul, game over. But there's always the advantage of being the future #1 draft pick.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:30 PM ^
Back-to-back threes! Butler back on top. Boom!
December 15th, 2012 at 4:30 PM ^
Ferrel's poor pass to Zeller may have just cost them the game
He has been pretty hesitant to shoot on open looks late in the game
December 15th, 2012 at 4:30 PM ^
Aside from Oladipo and Shehee do any other Hoosiers play defense? And where is Watford?
December 15th, 2012 at 4:31 PM ^
Watford - 4 fouls
December 15th, 2012 at 4:32 PM ^
At this point shouldn't foul trouble not matter? Get your best players on the floor.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:31 PM ^
This game is awesome no matter what happens. I love college basketball.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:31 PM ^
Butler is playing one heck of a game. Especially given their current foul trouble. This has been a very exciting game to watch.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:32 PM ^
Great game. Stevens is one hell of a coach.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:33 PM ^
Is that mini Pat Riley coaching for Indiana?
December 15th, 2012 at 4:33 PM ^
This is just an incredible basketball game to be having in early December. We can't really do the same thing in basketball, but the Michigan schools definitely need to do this every year in hockey. The intensity is great to see at this time of the season.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:36 PM ^
Kinda like the Great Lakes Invitational, except add in all of the schools
December 15th, 2012 at 4:33 PM ^
Interesting no call on that Zeller drive...
December 15th, 2012 at 4:35 PM ^
This game is amazing. Some of the best basketball I've seen in a while.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:36 PM ^
2.3 seconds away from #2 Michigan!
December 15th, 2012 at 5:29 PM ^
Actually, that will have to wait few more hours. Michigan has to take care of business with WVU first..
