Zona ties it back up at 28. These teams could combine for 100 points by the end of regulation.

Nevada cheerleaders are sure good lookin' and have some nice moves.
28-28 tied.
December 15th, 2012 at 2:27 PM ^
Wow! I would love to see a game breaker like this in Ann Arbor at RB in the future!
December 15th, 2012 at 2:28 PM ^
Yeah with Casteel Rich Rod will actually have a competent defense...they said
December 15th, 2012 at 2:32 PM ^
The announcers are talking about fake punts. That requires the defense to force a punt.
December 15th, 2012 at 2:34 PM ^
Nevada easily converts on 4th and 1. I am thoroughly amused and entertained by this game.
December 15th, 2012 at 2:37 PM ^
Refs missed a REALLY bad hold on the QB draw before. D-line got tackled from behind
December 15th, 2012 at 2:36 PM ^
One would think these defenses would be more used to seeing a running QB. That move appears to be Kryptonite so far.
December 15th, 2012 at 2:42 PM ^
31-28 Nevada at the half.
December 15th, 2012 at 2:42 PM ^
Holy cow, a field goal attempt. I bet they fake
December 15th, 2012 at 2:48 PM ^
I am SO happy to not have that tire fire of a defense anymore. Watching this game makes me even more thankful we have Mattison and Hoke who preach the basics. The tackling in this game has been just awful.
December 15th, 2012 at 2:55 PM ^
I feel like he nailed it when he said that watching the first half was like, "watching flag football." Thank God for Mattison and company!
December 15th, 2012 at 3:02 PM ^
Looks like Illinois 2010. So glad we rid ourselves of this crap.

OT, but listening to SVP talk about the dissolution of the Big East brought up a question for me: Why do schools (in this case Nova) not want other schools in their city/state (in this case St. Joes) in their conference? It seems like it would be a great rivalry. And it just seems like it wouldn't make a significant difference in recruiting, especially in basketball where any team can win the title or at least make the final four regardless of conference affiliation.
December 15th, 2012 at 3:14 PM ^
from a C-7 perspective, it would hurt their attempts at a TV deal
December 15th, 2012 at 3:23 PM ^
If they added Xavier, St. Joes, and someone else, wouldn't the conference be good enough and spread out enough to justify a TV deal that brings in a lot of markets?

Wow did that Nevada play look familiar. I thought Roy Roundtree had that copyrighted.

Tony Gibson.

32 first downs halfway through the 3rd...that is incredible
December 15th, 2012 at 3:23 PM ^
Watchin some really horrible Arizona D, ah, the memories....
December 15th, 2012 at 3:29 PM ^
if only we'd had casteel!
December 15th, 2012 at 3:24 PM ^
NCAA first down record in 3...2....1....
December 15th, 2012 at 3:25 PM ^
So at this point in which I'm writing, Nevada has run 75 plays and had 32 first downs. They're getting a first down on 42% of their plays and scored on 4 of those plays. Wow
December 15th, 2012 at 3:27 PM ^
I feel sick watching this. Too much offensive sugar, not enough defensive batter.
December 15th, 2012 at 3:27 PM ^
I was a moran for picking Rich Rod's team over a Nevada team that is usually coached pretty well. Their coach has been their a long ass time.
December 15th, 2012 at 3:28 PM ^
Three down linemen.
December 15th, 2012 at 3:28 PM ^
Everyone knows Mike Stoops left the cupboard bare . . .
December 15th, 2012 at 3:32 PM ^
While this is a good zinger, you probably aren't wrong. Arizona football isn't typically a paragon of talent. And Tony Gibson automatically negates any talent you have. On the whole team. He's that bad.

December 15th, 2012 at 4:14 PM ^
But they do have the almighty Jeff Casteel!...

Are they going to beat the NCAA record?

defense
December 15th, 2012 at 3:54 PM ^
Maybe it is the combination of ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine, but I think I just saw someone make a good stop on that return.
December 15th, 2012 at 3:56 PM ^
Drop watching this game. Butler leading Indiana with 4 minutes left on CBS
December 15th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
December 15th, 2012 at 4:01 PM ^
That was great form on that throw
December 15th, 2012 at 4:15 PM ^
Why punt? your defense is a sieve, I'd take every chance to keep the ball in my offense's hands, field position be damned
December 15th, 2012 at 4:25 PM ^
Apparently, so Nevada can eat 4 minutes off the clock to bring the ball back to where you would have turned it over on downs if you failed to convert on 4th.

3 turnovers, and you still pull the game out. Now that's what I'd call a WOW experience. I'm happy for RR, but not sad at all that the guys playing for him are wearing Arizona helmets.
