Yes! This is very good news. I've been waiting for commitments... Glad to have both Delano and David !

Rivals has him as Iowa's highest ranked commitment. 4 stars.

* Had - past tense!

It's been a while since a good football "Hello" thread, and now two just today - good things really do come in bunches sometimes.
Welcome to Michigan, Delano!

Does this mean L3 is out of the picture? Great get though
December 15th, 2012 at 1:27 PM ^
I'm sure it doesn't. With him and Hill both guys who could play S or CB and with all of our CBs who could move to WR (not like we need any of those, amirite?) I'm sure the coaches still take the 5 star guy if he wants in.

I don't think so. With the lack of depth at WR, I think this means that some of our DB recruits may end up at WR.

We all knew this was going to be a big weekend. Now Ace is praying for the end of his finger-bleeding nightmare.

Why? I am pretty sure we have Hello:Dawson lying around here somewhere...

It's been so long since the last commitment. Forgot the whole commitments in pairs thang.
December 15th, 2012 at 1:34 PM ^
can we just rename their school the UofM CT Campus?
December 15th, 2012 at 1:37 PM ^
UofM Dearborn and UofM Flint would become jealous.

But wasn't Hill an Iowa verbal previously?

indeed

we got him away from Soup Campbell! Maybe this would inspire Soup to come back too!
December 15th, 2012 at 1:38 PM ^
omg I forgot how much receiving a commit makes me happy. This is not healthy

Based on Rivals formula (http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=880&CID=1364602 ) for team rankings, the commits of Dawson (142 pts. on Rivals formula) and Hill (105 pts.) will bring our current point total to 2757, giving us 26 more points than current first place USC at 2731 points!
Although this lead may be temporary with many other teams having commits on their way, I'd say it's a nice spot to be in with guys like Green (216 pts.), McQuay (211 pts.), and many others still looking hard at Michigan.

You forgot to factor in that rivals only count your top 20 recruits. You need to subtract Dawson and Hill's totals from that of a 5.6 and 5.7 This puts us slightly ahead of Bama for the number 4 spot.

Good call, I got ahead of myself a little bit there I guess
December 15th, 2012 at 1:55 PM ^
Delano heard Iowa wanted to move him to running back so he jumped ship!
December 15th, 2012 at 5:16 PM ^
Well played, Volverine.

I don't believe Michigan is/was ever a very serious player for McQuay. I think that until somewhat recently it was a Vanderbilt/USC battle. However, I would not at all be suprised now if he ended up at FSU.
1.) It is in-state and there are many people around LM3 that would like to see him stay closer to home.
2.) While it hasn't been very widely reported, he was extremely impressed with his official visit to FSU.
3.) While FSU losing DC/DB Coach Mark Stoops to the Head Coaching job at Kentucky set FSU back in their recruitment of McQuay, the persistent rumor is that FSU will be hiring Alabama DB Coach Jeremy Pruitt. Saban considers Pruitt a future star in the industry and he's one of the top 5 assistant coach recruiters in the United States.
4.) There has not been a lot of contact between McQuay and the Michigan coaching staff recently.
December 15th, 2012 at 2:06 PM ^
Someone refute this and reassure me that we know nothing about McQuays leanings.
December 15th, 2012 at 2:09 PM ^
Mcquay took an official and unofficial to Michigan. Recruits that are not interested usually don't spend their own money to take a trip to a school.
His father, who is dealing with his recruitment, has said that Vandy, USC and Michigan are in his top 3.

OK, I didn't mean to say that McQuay isn't interested in Michigan. He is. I would put Michigan as the 4th most likely school for him to land at right now.

I guess you know everything because you are a scout.
December 15th, 2012 at 4:12 PM ^
No, I don't know everything. Just letting you know my opinion.

Indiana is on upset alert. 5:00 remaining and they are losing to Butler by 4 points. If they do lose and Michigan handles business today can you say #2 in the country?
