Michigan defended by...Ohio State?

It's sad that our biggest rival has more support for us than some of our fans. Way to be classy, OSU.

For all the crap we say about Ohio State, I can't deny that this was indeed a very class act, and I greatly appreciate it.

very nice.......................
O wait this is Ohio St
September 1st, 2009 at 8:21 PM ^
So?
Just because the fans are "hurr, dickrod SUXX!! Go BUCKS!! wolverweenies LOL!!" doesn't mean the coaches nor the players are like that.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:15 PM ^
This just goes to show you that the two teams view the rivalry a little differently than some fans.
September 1st, 2009 at 10:02 PM ^
As much as Michigan and Ohio State hate each other, there is a grudging respect between the two schools. It goes all the way back to Bo and Woody, and possibly before that.
Classy. I like it.

and anyone with half a brain that has actually been apart of a team even at the high school level know that you have to put in time outside of what is required to be good.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:18 PM ^
Attackers: Stupid ass lazy players and a contingent of retarded reporters led by Sharp and Rosenberg.
Defenders: Butler, WVU, Herbstreit, Brewster, Ohio State, parents of students...

Interesting contrast...

Point 300.

although no doubt for the Big 10 to become prominent again it will be Michigan that needs to do it. Osu has done their part by at least making a couple title games. Wiscy, Sparty, Illinois and Iowa will most likely never be relevant every year. A rivalry isn't much of a rivalry if it's one-sided. Most true osu fans are rooting for Michigan to be relevant again.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:23 PM ^
Well would ya look at that! thank you OSU, I still hate you.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:27 PM ^
Their fans might not be classy, but Tressel is usually a pretty classy guy IMHE.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:28 PM ^
Which wasn't very nice and hurt our feelings
September 1st, 2009 at 8:31 PM ^
How does Bouje have more points than me? That's not fair
September 1st, 2009 at 8:51 PM ^
Add to your sig. Have it say "cool story bro, you should tell it more often."
September 1st, 2009 at 8:54 PM ^
Post more/better?

To whoever negged me: Your sarcasm meter is broken
September 1st, 2009 at 9:38 PM ^
I still wish someone would force-feed that damn sweatervest to him.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:30 PM ^
I find it kind of ironic that Boren's team defends us for working hard barely over a year after he left us and gave us negative press for the same reason.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:31 PM ^
We can be rivals on the field and respect each other off of it. I think RichRod and Tressel truly understand the rivalry.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:31 PM ^
The reason they spoke out on Michigan's behalf is probably because their kids are practicing voluntarily even more....
Still, it was a class act. I might even feel a measure of guilt when we lay an ass whipping on them in November..Nah
September 1st, 2009 at 8:52 PM ^
It's tOSU.
September 1st, 2009 at 9:00 PM ^
It's OSU.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:34 PM ^
As much as we all hate OSU and they hate us, they know just as well as we do that if either team goes in the toilet for an extended period of time, the greatest rivalry in all of sports will die.
Thanks, OSU. I don't hate you any less, but I love the rivalry just as much as you do.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:34 PM ^
It took about 30 minutes to get to 100 comments bashing RR when the story first broke and the same for when Reodriguez denited wrong doing. There are currently 4 comments about the Buckeyes defending the situation. I guess it's only human nature to beat down everything as soon as possible but not comment when proven wrong.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:35 PM ^
Every top team in the FBS probably has players and coaches that mirror these sentiments. We'll probably hear from other schools, I'm kinda surprised we haven't heard more. Still, it's pretty classy to hear their team support ours of sorts.
So...I suppose we are going to have to remember this moment when we start beating their asses?
September 1st, 2009 at 8:36 PM ^
That was a classy move by Ohio State, but I'm still going to hope we destroy them in November.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:42 PM ^
A good friend of mine from OSU once said something along of the lines of "[Michigan and OSU] love each other. That's why the rivalry's so great!" I didn't really believe him until today.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:47 PM ^
I won't say that they love each other but do hold a sort of a mutual respect to one another.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:47 PM ^
They just respect each other more than any other rivalry.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:54 PM ^
It used to be different; not that any of us are old enough to remember.
They invited each other to dedicate their stadiums back in the day after all.
OSU even gave Tom Harmon a standing ovation after he single-handedly whooped that ass. This is probably the closest we'll get to that level of sportsmanship in this day and age.
Having said that, my Tom Harmon avatar will drink to that! Thanks OSU.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:53 PM ^
very classy of them. if their fanbase follows, even better.
September 1st, 2009 at 9:02 PM ^
ESPN ha the article now ... hopefully this helps put everything to rest, hopefully.
September 1st, 2009 at 9:11 PM ^
But as expected, it is not on Page 1 like the initial article was.
Edit: not to mention the article on RR being sued over the condo deal is above it.

A quote from Tressel regarding the extra hours:
"It'd be like telling our med students, 'We're going to close the library,"' he said. "You've got to let them train.
The most shocking part of the story is the revelation that Ohio State has a library AND a medical school.
I am surprised he didn't use the following analogy: "It'd be like the road commission closing the truck stop. Our fans gotta eat..."
September 1st, 2009 at 9:29 PM ^
Thanks guys.
September 1st, 2009 at 10:52 PM ^
Tressel and Rod are friends, remember? They used to meet during the offseason to share strategy, plays, ect. Still it feels weird.
September 2nd, 2009 at 12:24 AM ^
I vow to put away my "I Hate Ohio State" t-shirt for one week.
