OT: Saturday night drinking open thread

Submitted by IncrediblySTIFF on

I have never started this thread before, but I have started drinking.  I am honored to have an opportunity to load it up tonight.

For me, a (somewhat embarassing) change from the usual, as Jack Daniel's has been put on the back burner for the cheaper, yet suprisingly decent Evan Williams Black Lable.  I am not so ignorant as to think that Evan Williams is better than Jack, but today, for half the price, I can dig it.

Vanilla adds a great touch. Your porter will be popular over holidays. Definitely making this recipe again. I'd like to try a maize and blueberry for march madness and I wonder if anyone here has brewed this.

Fat Tire and Jameson on deck once my dishwasher finishes its cycle and I can get the glasses I like. That might sound slightly neurotic, but what the hell, you're all drinking anyway.

Yeah, I still have some of a fifth and a case I lucked into for my birthday last weekend, I think like four Fat Tires and maybe 35% of the whiskey left. Between the girlfriend and myself, we also have a couple bottles of champagne and a twelve pack of Shock Top, so I'll probably steal some of her stuff too.

Good luck on the sleep, it sounds like you really need it.

I imagine it something like the alternate 1985 in Back to the Future II, where MrMario86 has approximately four billion points and M-Wolverine sits in southern Bolivia, BiSB doesn't have witty replies and LSAClassOf2000 trolls anyone who uses stats. Also, a2electricboogaloo and B-Nut-GoBlue post pictures from Nickleback concerts, wearing Black Eyed Peas concert tees.

I can only imagine how much better life would be...

And even better, you get all the Singani you can drink and all the empanadas you can eat. Also, Sucre is only a 43 hour bus ride from Rio de Janeiro, so if MrMario is nice enough, you might even be able to score a ticket there for Rio Carnival.

But I'll be in Toronto next week, so I'll have some catching up to do. I'm thinking 7 year-old Havana Club and a few Bloody Caesars (with Brador chasers) will do quite nicely.

B.O.R.I.S is excellent, definitely one of the better RISs I have had.  The oatmeal adds a bit of a different flavor, almost salty, to it.  I got it for $9.99 for a bomber which isn't terrible for an RIS.  I pay $16 for a 4 pack of Ten Fidy and around that for Founders Imperial Stout as well.  I will definitely get B.O.R.I.S again since I only bought 2 bottles this time and one is to lay down for a year.

My girlfriend has informed me that her roomates are making 20 gallons of caribou lou, so I will probably, most likely, without a doubt, be very very drunk tonight. Tis' the season.

But for now, first thing's first. Drinking a couple Bell's Christmas Ales while watching the Heisman presentation. I missed the game from earlier, so that will be watched while I gear up my liver for tonight..

Winter Mix 12 pack tonight. Thanking God that Teo didn't win the Heisman. Not because he is from ND but because he isn't even the best defensive player over time. Weak Heisman year. Also enjoying some UFC on Fox

....after a few bottles of the Flying Dog In Heat Wheat.

It was a full day - experienced an exciting Michigan win in hoops and some other fun as well. Trying to balance it out with a small portion of the 700 pounds of leftover baked ziti from a gathering earlier.

Anyone watching the UFC?  Who do you like Henderson or Diaz.  So far I can say I hate Rory McDonald and can't wait to watch him get beat.  What's he gonna do when he finally gets a title shot against his best buddy GSP?  Gustafsson vs Jon Jones should be an interesting future matchup...feel a little bad for Shogun though.  I like Henderson in the main event.  Diaz is always game, but I think he may get bullied by the bigger stronger Henderson.  Thoughts?
