Play-by-play on radio apps is often turned off. I don't know if I tried 1300 specifically, but I was driving during the OSU game this year and several attempts to get the game on my phone were failures due to PBP being turned off and replaced with commercials.

I came prepared, though; I brought my laptop, tethered it to my phone, and listened to the game using the mgoblue.com audio link.

I think that our D will hang with them and keep us in the game. What scares the hell out of me is ther D vs our offense. We struggle mightily against decent to good defenses and they have a very good D.

This game is Borges' chance to shut up many of his critics and to make a statement to kids like treadwell that he can coach a great pro style attack.

And the hell that he will catch will be deserved.

Next year, I am all for making the move and just being a straight-up pro-style, west coast, air raid, power run or whatever he wants to call it team. That is what he and hoke like to run and that is what he is recruiting for. But for now, we have a qb (yes they should play Denard assuming that he heals) who is fast as shit but not a great thrower, another qb who cab throw and who can scramble, slot receivers and no non-Denard running game. Run Denard from the zone read, mix in a good dose of the 2-qb set. Intersperse power and deap balls (when devin is in) and generally just confound the opposing d with all of the many options that devin/Denard provide. Straight up pro style for denard's last game - and in a meaningless second tier bowl game, with nothing to lose, no less - would be a sin.

Michigan's combined opponents record is now 96-63 with south carolina now on the schedule. That is the most wins in the history of Michigan's COR.

5 teams with 10+ wins. 3 of them with 12 wins, 2 with undefeated records.

Exciting match up!

Coming in to the year most had us border-line top 10ish teams.  We lost to #1 #2 and #3 teams and Nebraska (top-20ish team) all on the road and Nebrasa with a big asterisk.

We beat Northwester (top-20ish team) and everyone else we should have- so its very hard to accurately gauge how good this team is.

This will be a really good chance to see.  If we win we are border-line top 10ish to top 15ish, if we keep it close 15-25, and if we stink it up then we can agree we were most likely overrated and are a fringe top-25 team.

Several of these are fairly comparable - no gigantic differences, and of course, different conferences. It has been mentioned in other threads, but we stack up well on both sides of the ball when season averages are considered on a few important, cursory metrics...

PER GAME AVG. MICHIGAN SOUTH CAROLINA
PASSING OFFENSE 198.08 yds 229.50 yds
PASSING DEFENSE 155.17 yds 193.25 yds
RUSHING OFFENSE 187.33 yds 142.92 yds
RUSHING DEFENSE 156.00 yds 119.00 yds
SCORING OFFENSE 30.00 pts 31.42 pts
SCORING DEFENSE 18.75 pts 17.42 pts
TURNOVER MARGIN -0.67 0.25

If denard is healthy with the hand, does Borges get cute and let him play qb? I hope Gardner continues to run the offense and denard lines up in a skill position. I think that would be our best chance to win. Thoughts?

From a football standpoint this makes sense. The offense is just better able to move the ball with devin in. Denied at qb will allow a very good d to load up the line and the result will be something like the ND game (with a few less self-inflicted wounds).

I like going with the 2-qb set for about 50% of the plays. Of these, there should be some where Denard is rb, some at WR (slot), some in a jet sweep / reverse type play, some as a qb where he run and some where he throws. of the remaining 50%, I would like half to each qb, but for denard's plays, he has to be able to throw occasionally.

From a pure emotion standpoint, Denard at qb where he throws for 4 Tds, runs for 3 more with 365 through the air and 225 on the ground. 1 pick, just because.

Michigan student here, and randomly love University of South Carolina with no affiliation to it at all so I decided to donate there this year. My ideal matchup, even considering sitting in the South Carolina section.

I've lived above the Mason-Dixon line my whole life, but I have several friends from the state of South Carolina, and their unanimous opinion is that South Carolina is the Michigan State of the region - the drunken brahs remaining once the admissions offices from better schools were done selecting their students.

This should be a good match up if Al doesn't blow it. I am definitely looking forward to it.

And given my hazy recollection  as a student back in the 80's when the gamecocks played in A2, I look forward to the crowd shots.  I honestly don't remember the game from back in the day (I believe we smoked them), but I definitely remember being impressed by the hotties from SC wandering around tailgates trying to sell GameCock boxer shorts (which they were thankfully modeling).
