First Saturday Without M Football...How Are You Coping?

Submitted by Louie C on
I'm working today, so the withdrawal won't be as severe. It's funny how we spend months eagerly anticipating the start of the season, yet it seems to go by within the blink of an eye.

I'm "coping" by remembering that life does not begin and end with football and I don't have to treat the end of the season like someone just died.  Haven't done that since I was five.

Strangely enough, out of habit, I looked at the schedule on the refrigerator when I got up this morning, then it struck me finally.

Actually, as it has been a mild day, I finally put up the rest of the Christmas lights and brought up the Christmas tree so that the kids can help decorate it later. As I haven't quite 100% recovered, I had difficulties putting up the red strands of lights, although I did double-staple them out of misplaced frustration. That being said, for the first Saturday since the last one in August, I've been productive around the house.

Also, there is some beer involved in the coping, as always, and in a couple hours, of course, there is Michigan hoops. After that, what I will call "stree-free football viewing".

On a happy note, the Festivus pole was brought out the other night to kickstart our holiday festivities here...

At the mall with the wife & 2 year old. Any mgohitmen out there? I'd love for someone to put me out of my misery. Just make it look like an accident. You know, insurance & all...

At least with the 2 year old, it probably won't turn into a 4 or 6 hour marathon. And if it does, tell your wife you need to go pick up something for her, and you'll take the 2 year old with you.  In my experience, spending time with a 2 year old is far preferable to shopping with a woman.

Cleaning up the last of the oak leaves, fixing the water damage in the basement ceiling caused by a leaky toilet above, digging out Christmas decorations, and distracting myself until we find out our bowl opponent tomorrow. Hoping the big recruiting week end two weeks from now generates some early Christmas presents, too.

Stool sample from my daughter. She's been a bit under the weather. When all that's done hopefully ill get a chance to settle down and watch some football.

"Christmas lights" not "holiday lights" I hate it that people are so PC and don't say merry Christmas anymore! Maybe Home Depot some Bed Bath and Beyond not sure if we will have enough time

I waited most of the year for the season to start and now it is just about over!  I was hoping to see Michigan play Wisconsin this evening but at least we stayed in the race through the season. Now I'm interested to see who we will play in one of the FL New Years Day bowl games! I'm happy to see the team heading in the right direction.

pondering if we could recruit a 6'6" QB to pick up short yardage like the Belldozer instead of mis-using 5'7" scat backs on a cold, gray day in Columbus when we needed just 30 minutes of good football to pulverize those evil vermin and make everything right in the world.

Coping fine. Thanks for asking.

Wife took the 3 youngins to grandmas! Icing my balls. Watching a sons of anarchy marathon. Blue basketball in 45. Football after that, then maybe a little its always sunny to end the day!

Starving though. Im the only fucker I know who is constantly hungry when sick/after a surgical procedure!

Oh yeah, its like 65 here in Denver today, so this really sucks balls being couped up inside!

Since it was my son's first flag game it was nice not having to TiVo the game and or miss a Michigan game all together. It also probably made the wife much happier in general.

Went to go see a musical (jackl and hyde) which was kind of awesome. Went to get some Korean food, also kind of awesome. Going home to get some work done, not so awesome. All in all I'm surviving.
