Stribling going for an INT gets smoked by his own teammate. Looked like a shot to the ribs to me. Eventually got up and walked off according to the announcer.

This kid is one of the most exciting, and versatile players in our class. Even more so with Conley's place uncertain. He's shut down quite a few high caliber teams, including putting a Rivals top100 WR on an island for an entire game, and is playing in a State Championship standing out above even his own top 100 teammates. Is Rivals finally going to bump him from a 2 star now?

Im sure Channing is gonna get his third star but the question is if he is worthy of being a four star.  I honestly don't care because the coaches are sold on him, but I know he as a player would appreciate that accolade. Also what was the official update on his injury?

Recently, I went through some of our less popular commits (Hurst, Stribling, Hill, Dukes, and York)  and I am astonished by our ability to notice and lock down talent.  I recommend the mgo-community go and check out some of those players senoir highlights.  Especially Hurst, his film is unreal and I am VERY VERY glad we snapped him up.

My theory is that, in general, the low rated recruits(low three star/two star) for major programs tend to be better on average than the entire pool of low rated recruits.

Not to say that every two/three star guy we take is necessarily better than their ranking, but major programs are able to scout more thoroughly than other programs, and usually have their own camps.  This gives them better opportunity to find those players who didn't ever get heavily scouted by one of the independent sites and may have ability above their rankings.

That is why a lower rated guy taken early in the process doesn't worry me much.  Yes, I realize rankings matter on the whole.  The coaches are in a good position to find the exceptions, though.  If they are offering at a time when they don't know for sure how the class will end up, it means they really want the kid.  You can have your pick of two stars come signing day if you just need to fill up the class anyway.
