Speaking of chants at the Stadium...

...can we retire the "You suck!" that's been added to the end of the "Temptation" teaser after defensive stops? This is a fairly new thing (we did not say it when I was on campus, 1998-2002) and frankly, I find it a little tacky. It's the kind of thing that would work at Yost, but it just doesn't seem to fit at Michigan Stadium. I can't imagine the alums ever getting into it. Let's say something else (even something as simple as "Let's Go Blue!") that all 110,000 can get into, not just 20,000 students.

This reminds me of hearing Yankee fans in Fenway Park sing "Red Sox Suck" to the chord changes after the words, "Sweet Caroline."

I don't understand why its only okay to say your opponent sucks in Yost. I know it is simple and kind of lame, but I actually sorta like the "you suck" chant.

I vote for a new cheer where everytime the opposing team makes a penalty we all start chanting "Dirt. Dirt. Dirt." We do that at our high school games and it's surprisingly awesome.

I don't like it, nor do I really hate it. I don't participate, but I don't participate in "The Claw" either. I was raised with the tomahawk chop and the punctual "GO BLUE" and I will die with the tomahawk chop and the punctual "GO BLUE."

Freep sucks would be a fitting replacement, do you think it would make their front page if it happened? How about some of those 6ft inflatable ***** with Freep down the sides to be tossed around in the third quarter? Fight stupidity with immaturity I always say.

Good point. One thing I noticed that's cool about ND is that they don't really boo (particularly when the other team's players are announced.) We chant "who cares" after each starter, whereas they all just turn around and ignore the opposition. That's pretty sweet. We should do something similar.
