I want to be despised again

I think they were just relieved to get out of there with a win.

The venom ebbs when the season is over. Their season is over.

I think Ohio is getting so used to beating Michigan that it is harder for them to hate any of us when we go to Columbus anymore. If Michigan had won and ruined their "undefeated but we cheated" season, I have a feeling that anyone wearing maize and blue would have found out first-hand how "nice" Ohio fans can be to Michigan fans.
November 25th, 2012 at 11:07 PM ^
I for one can attest to this. Most of the hatred now has divert to Wisconsin.

Honestly we expect to beat Michigan every year now. I remember the Cooper era as having much better teams than Michigan but by 96 feeling that we were going to find a way to lose. And we did. We hate Michigan for more of what they did in the distant past than for what they do today or in the future. It was a tense game, but did the outcome really surprise any Michigan fan?
November 24th, 2012 at 8:31 PM ^
You sound like a typical buckeye fan. Michigan and you're team were not good teams this year point blank-Buckeye fans live in fantasy land-The Big Ten was weakest I;ve eer seen it in the 40+ years of watching. I'm not sure if any big Ten team will win a bowl game this years
November 24th, 2012 at 8:35 PM ^
You're = you are
You were going for "your". I don't know how so many people can get that screwed up.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:38 PM ^
You do understand that you just wrote that Michigan lost to a team that isn't very good. I mean, things like that do happen (OSU/Michigan 1969) but at least say your team lost to a 12-0 team. And before you go tossing about words like stupid, you may wish to learn the proper use of your and you're.

Go away.

I think there's still the same level of hatred, but the trash are fewer in number.
In the late '90s/early '00s, OSU and Campus Partners were buying up south campus bars and tearing them down. That meant that, on gamedays, Big-Lots Buckeyes who would usually do their drinking in a semi-controlled environment well away from opposing fans were now loose on the streets of Columbus, crashing whichever tailgate offered the lowest cover and getting completely wasted. With the opening of the Campus Gateway, together with a number of new bars in the Short North/Arena District - the area between OSU and downtown - there are no longer the same problems with drunken idiots wandering the streets around the 'Shoe.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:57 PM ^
Yes, it did. OSU won by a few points and was one play away from losing. The crowd, in fact, was quite nervous.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:25 PM ^
At least we will beat them in basketball twice and win the big ten, then their fans will say they don't care about basketball, even though they have been bragging about their basketball team for the past 7 years or so.
Fuck them.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:26 PM ^
Dude-They won the game-If we would've won, You would've been bashed and bantered.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:30 PM ^
Why would they hate you? It kills me to say it, but right now, they are dominating us. Not to worry though, the hate will be back.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:34 PM ^
We still hate you but it's more of a memory of hate. Like you know you hate liver and onions even though you haven't eaten them since you were a little kid. Wisconsin has our "real" hate right now because they are beating us on a somewhat regular basis.

Ah, the renown Michigan intellect. So sharp, so witty. I suppose the next retort I can expect will be along the lines of "I'm rubber, you're glue..."

Go fuck yourself.

The only real trash talk I heard today was about how this isn't much of a rivalry anymore. 10/12 is a statistic that's difficult to argue with.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:34 PM ^
9 yr of ass kicking wont make us despised....you want that we need to win 3 in a row. Until then the expectation to Ohio is that they will win every year.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:36 PM ^
They were probably experiencing that mildest of euphorias, like thrusting until climax inside a slutty, average-looking chick whose mind is elsewhere.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:41 PM ^
Leave Denard out of this. I'm sure he and his weak ball carrying arms feel pretty bad right now.
November 24th, 2012 at 9:24 PM ^
Get back to your buckeye circle jerk party you cock-juggling thundercunt troll.
November 24th, 2012 at 9:51 PM ^
Jerk party? Will your defensive coordinator be there, because he certainly has the motions down.
November 24th, 2012 at 10:41 PM ^
The fact that you're getting jollies from kicking opposing fans while they're down doesn't reflect poorly on your team so much as it reflects poorly as you as a person. Get off the computer and go get laid or something.
November 24th, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
Don't you have to get back to the park bench you live under?
Seriously mods. Banish this twat to Bolivia.

You did a good job of pretending for a little while but apparently couldn't help yourself any longer. Well done.
Stay away from my coolers.
November 24th, 2012 at 8:38 PM ^
As long as we're not ruining their undefeated season (like in the 90's) their fans are actually pretty tolerable.
November 24th, 2012 at 9:12 PM ^
I was tailgaiting down at the game in the stadium parking lot, while wearing my University of Dayton gear to blend in with the cooler poopers, and didn't see much vitriol other than the typical "fuck Michigan". That said, if Michigan would have won it would have been a different story. I do agree that the Fuckeyes have gotten comfortable with the idea of beating Michigan consistently, but fans hate going to Columbus for a reason; more ass holes than usual reside there.
Most fans that I watched the game with just laughed at our playcalling in the second half.
But it would be nice if opposing fans could acutally feel safe while traveling down here. Not holding my breath, though.

that we are still in fact rebuilding while Ohio never really lost much talent other than recruits. While I'm still very butthurt about the game, I think we need to realize that next year with almost all of Brady's players in the system and pretty much all of RR's gone it will be our first real indicator of how we will compete with Brady as our head coach. Ohio never really needed to rebuild at all. While they lost a year with Fickel, it was made up in the spring and throughout the fall with the competitive and solid coaching abilities of Meyer (who is still a total asshole). Be prepared because Michigan football will be back on a national scale next season... GO BLUE!

I just took a quick look at our schedule and the depth charts of the teams we play. We get ND, Nebraska, and OSU at home next year. Our tough road games are at MSU, PSU, and NW. ND looses pretty much their entire offensive line and both RBs, TE, etc. They also lose a NT and two LBs. PSU doesn't look to scary and will be breaking in a new QB. Nebraska does bring back Martinez, Abdolluh, and Bell, but they lose quite a bit on defense. NW does bring back the Colter/Mark combo, but lose 3 of their 5 offensive lineman. And, they lose 2 DBs, a LB, and 2 DL. I still think we are the favorite on the road.
So we should beat Central Michigan, Akron, (Open Date), UCONN, Minnesota, PSU, Northwestern, and Iowa. Our tough games will be Notre Dame, but as I mentioned they lose their entire offense and we get them at home, MSU, they are all back unless Gholston and Bell go pro, Nebraska, but we get them at home, and OSU that we get at home. So thats 7-8 games we should win and 4-5 that will be close in terms of how we match up, but three of them are at home. So, I think if we get by ND we go 9-3. If we lost to ND we could go 8-4. But, there's no one one the schedule we can't beat. So, there's no reason to think if the chips don't fall our way we couldn't go 11-1/10-2 and win the conference. So cheer up! Then, in 2014 it's smooth sailing!

But I guess that was a different case... Those guys are complete asses in Ohio. Last season I wanted us to crush Ohio only because I wanted to take advantage of their down year but also to end the streak in a rather fashionable manner.
November 25th, 2012 at 10:28 AM ^
I'd been to ND and PSU away before, and this was my first time in CBUS. I was shocked how nice most of the OSU fans were. I was expecting the worst, but really almost everyone I encountered was civil. I'd have to rate all three away experiences pretty much the same. A couple "fuck michigan" taunts from each school, but all in all, people were very friendly and helpful. I was even given directions for a shortcut to the stadium (I was very suspicious), but it all worked out really well. Afterwards, it was all "good game", "I thought you had us there", etc.
I think the bucks try to project a thug image just to scare away visiting fans. Based on my experience, SUBSTANTIALLY fewer M fans make the trip south than Ohio fans make the trip north. I think they like keeping their home field locked down by projecting the image that your tires will be slashed / etc, but it just isn't true.
