What sucks the most about the whole Freep thing!

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on

There is no way this is an NCAA violation and I don't think that anything will come of this.....

...but hypothetically if, for whatever their reasons are the NCAA decides that Toney Clemons, Kurt Wermers, Boren and whomever else is happy to come forward and to spill their sour grapes is truthful and find a violation, the most that appears likely to happen is a few missed practices, maybe a few scholarships lost for a few years and we're on double secret probation for a few years and a big black eye. Not like when the basketball team was stripped of postseason privileges or they're going to give us the SMU death penalty. So really, if the NCAA pulled that out TOMORROW, would any of the sanctions really damage our program that greatly. NO. Its the damn black eye part!

Now we have to wait months and months and maybe years or never to hear an official NCAA report on the issue and in the meantime every freaking coach of every other program will be whispering NCAA Violations in our recruits ear. Every tv analyst will make some mention during our coverage. Needless to say the Free Press will try to keep the best story they've had since Kwame alive as long as they can and, we're essentially assumed guilty.....

This blows!!!
What blows worse is that there really isn't a damn thing anyone can do about it except continue to believe, shout back at our detractors and hope the boys get it done on Saturdays to give everyone something else to talk about.

that this makes the team focus even more than normal for a first game. I hope they call a team meeting and discuss how starting the season off right will help everything. I hope they treat this first game like it's the superbowl and make a BIG statement. I know Hiller will put some points on the board, but I think we can put about 21 more... Here's to hoping that this whole fiasco ends up helping the team come out on saturday like their lives depend on it. I am worried that if they come out and dominate that some people will say it is evidence that we cheated over the summer.. Ahhh - who cares what people think? Go Blue, go RR! We are behind you 100%!

I do think, as for negative recruiting, this can and will be used against us. But, I also think that RR's record at WV and hopefully this forthcoming season's outcome will speak against such claims. The students RR recruits are in the know as far as college ball is concerned and are, I think, made aware of RR's style up front. So I guess if this Freep problem is the only thing deterring a player then we dont really want them anyway.
