EFF This - Anyone With in Finding some way to let RR know We support Him?

Submitted by mtzlblk on
Watching the presser, I am not sure that RR knows that he has a million fans in his corner.
I believe he cares about the players, I believe he makes them the best they can be, I believe there is some faction of people working against him in creating/perpetuating this witch hunt. It is beyond all reason and logic to be this pervasive and this baseless.

Message to those who are behind this, you are OSU, MSU and PSU's best friends. You are tearing apart the program that you think you are saving.

I am all for getting together a huge list/group whatever of alumnae/fans/faithful to provide RR a massive show of support from those that back him. Anyone else in? Billboard? Skywriting? Email site/petition? Any ideas are gladly appreciated.

If you want to come on here and neg me for this, go right ahead, I don't care about my points. If you want to come on here and post that I am being blindly faithful and I shouldn't offer my undying support, don't bother. I was a wait and see person on RR before, but it has become apparent to me that there is more at work here and that he is not getting a fair shake. Whatever you think of him, he should be given that chance and nothing I have seen has ever convinced me otherwirse.

I am an alumnus, my parents, brother and sister are alumni. I bleed maize and blue, I grew up in East Lansings surrounded by Sparties (my second fave team, no hate there) and my Mother is from Columbus with that entire side of the family a pack of rabid Bucknuts. Nothing has convinced me that RR has anything but success and pride in store for UM football. The constant stream of innuendo, rumor and negative campaigning/leaking by some group/individual has caused me to go from 'wait and see' to EFF this. So EFF it.

I'm all in for michigan (though I still don't really like that slogan) AND RR. If he is run out of town, who in the hell do you think would EVER want that job. Les Miles is not the answer, get used to that.

I want some media attention to the high GPA, the players that ARE buying in, all the positive comments that come out of that camp about improvement, character, etc.

Where is it?

I want to hear from player Rich has recruited who love football and are bought into the program and willing to compete and do what it takes to get better. When did we as M fans start thinking it wasn't okay to go the extra mile to get better? The players are working hard...GREAT! If players don't like that, leave. Many have, good luck to them.

You can't have it both ways. You want wins, you work as a team and have players that are committed. You want students first, athletes second, fine. Start getting used to no-bowl seasons and 7-5 records. That is where we were headed.

Let's show Rod and the players that we are behind him before WVU game. Anyone with me?

... and just make a facebook group.

Really though, I think it would be excellent if we could show Coach Rod that he has a lot of support from the fan base. He has to be so worn out of all of the crap that he's had to deal with that I imagine it would be nice for him to know that we don't believe all of the crap posted and that we support him fully.

Though I would love to see us play WVU, it is actually WMU that we are playing this weekend. I agree with your sentiment but have no idea how it could be done. I hope he becomes aware of the fact that many (if not most) of the UM fans support him 100%. Once we give the media something better to write about this type of BS will continue to get air time. This season will hopefully give them something better to write about. Can't wait til Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought about doing a petition, something like I fully support RR and his staff.

Maybe doing it online in hopes it would circulate throughout the Michigan community, and hopefully although I know RR is busy that he would know that most of us support him and his staff.

Facebook might actually be the fastest way to make it happen. Otherwise it's difficult because people live in every corner of the country..

As cheesy as it sounds, "All in for Michigan" has taken on a whole new meaning for me over the past 24 hours. Outside forces continually want to dump on RichRod and the Wolverine program and it really has become an "Us vs. the World" feeling to me. It's time for the real Wolverine fans to stand up and show their support for the program! These kids could really use the unity of Wolverine nation on Saturday.

Like many (I'm guessing) for me the "All in for Michigan" slogan was quaint and fine, but as an old timer (UM Class of 89 and born at UM Hospital in 1967) I didn't really care much about that stuff.

But now...it has taken on a whole new meaning. It's exactly how I feel. I'm all in baby! Bring it on!

If you can keep your head when all about you
are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
but make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated don’t give way to hating,
and yet don’t look too good or talk too wise:

If you can dream and not make dreams your master;
if you can think and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
and treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
and stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings;
and risk it on one turn of pitch and toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
and never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
to serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
except the will which says to them Hold on!

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
or walk with Kings – nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
if all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
with sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a man, my son.

Since we are a culture (at UM) known for our chants... I propose that for the WMU game, we change the 'YOU SUCK' to 'RICH ROD' for the entire game after 3 and outs.

ALONG WITH NEVER SITTING DOWN, NEVER STOP YELLING, BLUE-HAIR-SHAKING, ROSENBERG-FALLING-OUT-OF-HIS-SEAT, RAUCOUS GLASS SHAKING, JUMPING UP AND DOWN, CRAZIEST TAILGATE THROUGH GAME SCREAMING WE HAVE EVER SEEN.... just sayin'...

Having a chance to edit and now it is done b/c I could not get back in immediately to fix due to slow server.

Anyway, thanks for the comments. Facebook group is easy, may do that.

But I want something that is a bit more noticeable.

I'm going to check into the cost for a billboard in/around Ann Arbor. I may have it point to the facebook group if i can pull it off, that way people can hop on board if they see fit.

Doesn't a buyout from his old contract and $2.5 million annually for 6 years amount to a "show of support"?

Does anyone think coaching at Michigan is easy? I'd put it among the top 10 most stressful jobs in the country (coaching and politics included).

Buck up, Wolverines.

Otherwise I think I would go down to Schembechler Hall and wait for him personally.

Us versus them and if that Them includes other UM fans that can't get behind rich, then bring it on.

Mgoblue.com notes that Rich Rod's Executive Assistant is Jennifer Maszatics. Her e-mail address is [email protected]. I don't know about you, but I am e-mailing her and asking her to give our support to all the players and coaches. Let's give her the best from the Michigan faithful and hope that she passes it on to Coach.

Even if there's just a 1 in a 1,000 chance that someone reads/pass along these e-mails, it's better than sitting by and watching our coaches get hung out to dry by journalists with an axe to grind. It's time to close ranks around our own however best we can.

i was wanting to do this too. glad someone is ahead of me here. it is clear RR is wearing his emotions on his sleeve. i wonder if he is starting to think coming here was a bad decision. he ostracized himself in wv, had a terrible season last year, and now seems to be attacked at every turn by the freep (a paper you think would support him). i truly feel for the man.

just cheer really loud and support them everygame. Some of us Alumni moved but this has been a very hard 2 1/2 years for all of us since Bo died and App st the coaching change and the crappy season. It nice to come on these blogs and chats and talk to people who are just as mad as I am right now and I don't care who the coach is but they will always have my full support every day. I hate to say it is "us' against the world but every media outlet is dogging this school and program so right now if you don't bleed Maize and Blue then get the hell out of our way. I'm all in for Michigan!!!

I emailed his assistant. I hope she passes the message on. I never liked the "All in for Michigan" slogan either, but now, I must say it means so much. I hope that during these challenging times, we come together as a university and as a football TEAM. It is time to put the past behind us and look to the future. Michigan is special because the support for the university from the fans and alumni is unmatched. This is the time to show that support in anyway you can. Go Blue and All in for Michigan.

How about going to the game and actually makin it sound like there are 110,000+ fans there. Like Coach said, go "all in for Michigan". People are always going to hate on Michigan because success breeds jealousy. The way to shut them up? Go cheer your team on and win some damn ballgames. Winners don't have to answer stupid questions from illiterate jerks (FreeP reporters, I'm lookin at YOU). Michigan wins, Michigan fans win, Coach Rodriguez wins. Simple as that. Let the play on the field do the talking.

showing my support for him. Let me tell you, I never met the guy but I'm an alumn who graduated in 1982. I recently lost my oldest son, who was my constant Big House companion, in a car accident while he was away at school last October 2008. I was so distraught that I wrote RR--in a cathartic state of grief--telling him about the devasting loss of my son who loved Michigan football like me. The holidays were approaching and it was going to be my family's first without my son. Let me tell you about RR, he sent me a Christmas card containing the team photo and he doesn't know me from Adam!! He truly cares about the University, its alumni, and the players past and present-just look at how he's reached out to the past players to come back and be a part of the program. Folks, we've got a winner in RR. Let's not sour him on remaining at the helm.
