Someone is looking around IMO, you don't offer someone new unless someone is looking to bounce. And you have 3 studs waiting to make there decision w only 2 spots left. Someone is definitely looking around.

Because RJS came in weighing 212 pounds, is 6'2, and I think we burned his RS. McCray is also about 6'1-6'2 and the coaches might be concerned that neither player can put on the appropriate weight to play the position. SAM is supposed to be nearly identical to WDE with the SAM being a little smaller and faster so he can cover. Isn't Jake Ryan already around 245-250? He will probably add on some more weight for next season.

From what I've heard, Jenkins-Stone has been getting reps mostly at inside linebacker.  I'm not sure if it's because of the weight or his skills or whatever, but maybe the coaches just don't see him as a SAM.  From what I've seen of him on special teams, his body type looks more like a MIKE.  Of course, body type doesn't mean everything...

I think that Reschke would be a great pickup but would be shocked if he decommitted from State.   He was one of the first guys in their class, a legacy and has been recruiting guys to State like Shane has been doing for us.   This would be a huge blow to Sparty.

"No way in hell" is probably right.

However, maybe Reschke wants to play for championships, coaches that truly place player safety & character as top priorities, and teammates not mired in excuses & public vitriole. Maybe an 18-year old wants independence from a legacy.

If no way in hell is 1000-to-1 odds, I'll put $10 on hell.

The kid is best friends with Shane. The offer does seem a little out of the blue and random. Perhaps Shane tipped off the coaches that if there is a need at LB that flipping Reschke wouldn't be impossible.

Something just doesn't add up in regards to offering a Spartan legacy just for the hell of it.

At least that is my e-pinion.
